Probably time to start believing. Turned down by Gundy, Gruden, Strong, and Patterson in 2012 that we know of. Appears to be trending in that direction again. Guess we'll know when the final decision is made. Which I wouldn't expect before Nov 25.
I'm not saying Butch is the only one or anywhere near the best. I'm just saying it doesn't appear there is a ton of interest from the top couple of targets.
not consistently in the top 5. Anomalies are expected but tennessee is not a consistent top 7 bluechip recruiting stateDo you enjoy lying or are you simply ignorant?
The state of Tennessee is now top 5 in the country when it comes to producing elite college football talent. Only Florida, Texas, Georgia, and California are currently producing more talent.
Tennessee is producing more 4 and 5 star prospects in the classes of 2019 and 2020 than Louisiana and Ohio. Only Florida, Texas, Georgia, and California have more.
So you are absolutely right about talent in this state being like others. Its now top in the country. Its special.

I get that it's not 2012 and the program is certainly in better shape than when Butch was hired. But how soon people forget. 2012 coaching search was a disaster.
I think this is going to end up like Texas last year. Keep Butch (Charlie) longer than expected but when he is fired we'll announce the new hire within 48 hours. Not sure if it'll be 12 like Texas lol. LSU firing Les before Texas fired Strong didn't help them land Herman. To me, it seems like irrational, emotional midseason firings don't help a school unless they already have their guy (which UF certainly could already). Outside of Tenn media, I haven't seen many national writers applaud this.

Also, he has no source. We all need hope right now as fans.
I just don't understand your approach.
You've chosen to assume hard work and competence by the AD instead of believing our job is desired by quality coaches.
It's a message board dude. We share opinions based on what we know, which isn't much at this point. That's how this whole thing works. I've never said my opinion was unbreakable. I definitely welcome and would love to hear alternative view points. Also, he has no source.
Our guess is as good as his, but he reminds me of butch in a way. He thinks his opinion is unbreakable and that there cant be any other input/opinions.
I dont have FACTS, so Ill refrain from conspiracy topics such as claiming nobody wants this gig as youve stated. It's a message board dude. I think for a few weeks at least. The offense & QB performance just hasn't improved. That was supposed to be Mac's #1 priority and area of expertise.

Charlie Strong would take the UT job now, Norvell would take the job. Take a look at what they are being paid now. These are not my first pics but imo be much much better than what we have. I think Mullen would take the job, if Fla doesn't offer also.
Durkin? We are interested in a guy who's been a head coach for two years....at Maryland? Why exactly? Seriously?
And Campbell--is he the Iowa State coach who is 9-11 in the Big10 in his two years there, after coaching at Troy?
And for all the effusive praise for Frost, what the hell has he done? He's been a head coach for two years at Central Florida--and while he's had some success there, nobody has the vaguest idea how he'd do at UT. He's the flavor of the moment. None of these three has proven anything. If Saban's credentials were a 9.5 out of 10 before he was hired by Bama--he'd won a national title and had extended head coaching experience at two major programs--these guys are a 4, if that.

. @ucf_marcdaniels said as of today no one has contacted Scott Frost or his agent. Marc said people claiming to have sources are lying

As we are all looking for reasons to justify why Butch has not been fired, it appears the best explanation has been apparent all along. We just choose to ignore it. From a PR standpoint, it is very important to Currie that the AD avoid a protracted and embarrassing coaching search. As a result, the policy is to have a verbal agreement with a new HC and formal announcement within a few days of firing Butch. I believe the search firm has contacted various agents and the interest in the job just isn't that warm. Another coaching search like 2012 would be detrimental from a PR standpoint.
