I referenced “kids”, because many people have said they would be ok with this, and more, done to their kids. I’m saying I would not. I understand JG is an adult, however many times people here refer to the players as kids (not saying you have). There is plenty of research to back up my position, regardless if the person involved is a child or an adult. My position being that this type of leadership is not the most effective.
I certainly don’t think it’s a horrible thing to have happened. I’m not losing sleep over it, and I don’t think Pruitt should be fired or anything like that. I’m just giving my opinion. As I said, I realize I’m in the minority, and I don’t expect anyone to sway to my “side”.

God, you guys are biting so hard. This is how sensationalism works, it draws attention and discussion essentially about nothing. You can't blame the media, they get views and make money off ads, mission accomplished.

You are a mom. It’s your natural instinct to protect your son from the big bad mean daddy figure.

I get it.

My wife is the same way with our son.

On the flip side my wife is more than happy to go after our daughters and nobody messes with daddy’s little girls. Men our wired to protect their daughters and raise their sons to be men. Key word is men, not snowflake.

But at the end of the day, men are different than women and he needed to understand how bad he messed up. He was also not listening to Pruitt and walking away which will piss any dad off fast. And yes a coach does become a father figure in many ways.

What would Freud say about all that? 😂😂
Ultimately you’re probably right. I’m sure it comes from my mom side, and I think my teacher side as well.

Oh Freud would go all Oedipal.

I am shocked though his works have not been banned in colleges yet due to his beliefs on what is perverse.

But I digress....

I would have been okay if he’d have ripped his helmet off and body slammed him to the ground... lol, j/k.

Good grief why is this even a big friggin deal? It was nothing.

Absolutely no problem with that...Its been happening for years to players.....only in todays world would someone even question that …..like mama said....its gonna be a lot worse when im dead and gone....hey boys....mama was right.

It was the absolute perfect response

Agree 100%..That and sitting his a$$ on the bench was as perfect of a response as he could have had. I love that CJP holds every player accountable and doesn't put up with the BS. No clue what JG could have possibly been thinking.Ala was selling out for the QB sneak, Crouch could have walked in and gotten us within 8. Throw in that play and the overthrow by JG with Jennings wide open for a TD then who knows how the game ends
We need Mauer to stay healthy, then the rest of our games are all winnable. There's just a different vibe and swag from the players when Mauer is in the game.

Not too mention the alleged holding on Juan's TD another 4 points there

Everyone talking about Pruitt and the facemask, but almost zero coverage regarding Dabo and the guy forced to ride the bus home to Clemson from Louisville...

Just curious to what the board thinks. Personally it didn’t bother me at all, maybe I’m in the minority on this one but to me that was a coach making sure he had his players undivided attention.

I see we have 41 little snowflakes on here.

If a player can't take the heat stay out of the kitchen
If that was a big deal, half of our dads would be in jail.

I voted "no."

He didn't jerk JG's head around or grab his whole face mask and hold it to turn his head.

However, I don't think there's a blanket approval for a coach to grab a player's facemask, either.

Some have cried foul at how intensely CJP yelled at JG---
I say it was completely appropriate to "bust...his...azz" verbally in a public manner because of the SELFISH and SELF-SERVING actions of JG.
JG took it upon himself to screw up all of the hard work the team put in all week in preparation of playing and possibly beating the #1 team in the land.
IMO--JG should've been sent off the field and into the locker room.

GO VOLS!

P.S.
I don't know if everyone heard it during the TV broadcast--but I think it was Griese who shared some new info that I'd never heard before about JG.
He said (paraphrasing here) that Chaney told him that JG had called some completely incomprehensible audibles in earlier games this year.
And that they could've figure out why in the world he changed the play during the game.

I think it took an incredible amount of restraint to not jerk his helmet completely off JG's head. He's a better man than I am I can guarantee you that. I would have jerked his helmet off his head and kicked him in the azz to.

I didn’t like it. If it was my one of my sons I would have a huge problem with it. I think it’s really interesting as a society what we accept from coaches that we would not accept from anyone else in regards to our kids. But I’m obviously in the minority.
Jg is 21 years old . Not a kid

A slight finger TUG at the face mask for all of one quarter of one second and some people go apoplectic. Should probably put JG under concussion protocol just to be safe.

If I had botched it like JG, my coach would have knocked my helmet off and probably whacked me on the head with it, and I would have deserved it. I guess that's why he got to wear championship rings from when he played for Bear Bryant. The reality is that it was so minor that JG probably didnt know his mask had been touched till he read about it from the diaper-wearing media pundits.

And your coach falls under the category of "an out of control jerk."
