Who does Pruitt play for?

I initially don't like it but he must be really confident in himself and his guys or he would be there.

But wouldn't it have been cool if it had gone like this:

Reporter: Coach, do you you plan to finish your commitment to Alabama and coach in the playoff games?

Pruitt: Sir, my commitment to Alabama ended when my commitment here started.

Reporter: So you aren't going back to Alabama?

Pruitt: Oh I'm going back to Alabama. And when I do, Alabama is going to get trucked. Thank y'all for the questions. Go Big Orange.

No, that would have been childish.

I don't see it as quitting on his team...he accepted a new job...

I'm assuming you are a marine, how many times have you been prompted and continued in your old position...or, get PCS'd but continue to report to your old unit

It's getting prompted like a colonoscopy?

Hey Orange Crush, look at the expectations thread. Told you, a running thread of excuses for losing. One thread, they're creaming over Chris Weinke and the rest of the staff, in the next they're saying 6-6 is our ceiling. haha.

With such a dominant staff!?!?!? No waaaay.

I see a gaggle of Bama lovers joined in while I was out this evening. I'll expect you guys to be dressed in crimson watching the NC game so you can fully support that great man Coach Pruitt. The one who doesn't allow his assistants to coach kids they committed to so he can.

I'll never understand the coach worship from this fan base. It's why we end up where we end up the last 10 years. People put the coach on a pedestal and value him above the program regardless of results or anything else.

I have no idea a Tennessee fan can want Bama to prosper. Ever. For any reason. It is no coincidence that our darkest years are happening while they shine the brightest.

Jesus boy! What do you think this is Game of Thrones. This is a mans job. From what I’ve seen he will take it seriously. And he has integrity on top of that. You’d do well to try to have some yourself.

Coincidentally, it also worked out pretty good for FAU when Kiffin went to work for his new employer instead of staying with Alabama after he was hired.

...he did stay...right up until he got fired just a few days before the title game...

2nd post was right, at least do 5 seconds of research before randomly starting a thread like this

Let him coach Alabama, but no excuses for the talent next year. He could scrape and claw and save this recruiting class if he stayed and tried. No doubt. His recruiting acumen is unquestionable. I'm simply tired of excuses for him to lose. He's gotta get it done.

On balance I'm not thrilled with it but it's just one more piece of fallout from the ineptly run search process. We'll get through it and move on to the important mater of being competitive next year.

I’ve got a feeling you’re the kind of guy who likes to scream at anyone who has different political leanings than yours....just a hunch.

I had posted in an earlier thread that he should be here with the players. After thinking it out I have decided this is a good thing all around.

Pulling the true fan card and calling people "Bama lovers" is every bit as stupid as the coach worship.

Which assistants is he stopping from coaching?

Oh stop, the CJP fan boy ball washers are by far the most unreasonable. They say how great staff hires are and how dominant our staff will be but, if you disagree then they say you are stupid and tell you we will be lucky to get six wins the first year. Just stop it.

Unreal. Proving ones self is a lost value. If he's a homerun hire he better have 10 wins year 2.

You're a worthless "human being". If you're gonna be in Tennessee around Christmas time I'd love to sit and have a beer with you.

I'll be there. We can talk about our homerun staff who will be lucky to win 6 games, that's according to CJP ball washers.

Don't know what Game of Thrones is but if it involves $35 million dollars and working against yourself, I'm out.

I do know what integrity is. It doesn't involve snowflakishness.

I have never heard of a situation where a major football school hired a new coach, but the new coach remained at the original school, an arch rival school, to help them for another 6 weeks.

Why would the new coach want to do that?
Why would the head coach (Saban) allow it?
Why would the new employer (UT) allow it?
Why are we putting up with it?

Don't make excuses or lame justifications. We need all his time and energy here now. We have lost the fan base, recruits, and our reputation.

Today, is our new coach for us or is he for Alabama?

I can answer all those questions with one word.

Integrity.

Integrity - Definition for English-Language Learners from Merriam-Webster's Learner's Dictionary

More likely of the 50 and older type that doesn't realize it's 2017 and nobody cares if a coach comes from Bama or not so long as he wins.

We seem to have a lot of them lately.
2017?

No wonder my joints hurt. If I knew it'd be like this I might have lived a little more snowflaky. But I didn't. Let me know if it would have helped.

Every time the announcer's talk about Bama's defense in the playoff's, the announcer's will say the new head coach of Tennessee's name great recruiting tool, plus they will tell how loyal he is to his player's if that get's 2 or 3 top recruits will be worth it, don't mean we are pulling for bama, we need to do what ever it takes to land some big time recruits.
Yeah.

It'll be all about the coordinator going to the laughing stock 4-8 Vols. Nobody will even notice Saban.
