Who does Pruitt play for?

It may also show his potential recruits that he's a selfish douche. Never know, I guess.

I wouldn't get angry to see him make a clean break today. I'm just not going to impose some ethical code on him when I've worked notices between every job change I've ever made--all in the name of some BS, childish "rivalry".

We have the luxury of childish rivalry big talk. He's a professional. I'm glad our coach sees it as a professional move.
Well fan is short for fanatic, no?

I'm sure he will be relieved, Boss Man. :good!:

Until then you want to melt down about the stock market in two years? The price of coffee in 2023? The heart attack your hypertension will cause 9 months from now?

I wanna hear Fulmer say it.

I do have hypertension, which shocked me. I don't smoke, rarely drink, and run 2 miles every morning. Maybe that's why.

I'm also habitually successful coming from extreme poverty.

Give and take I suppose. I'll die successful.

Its not how you start but how you finish. I was extremely poor, my dad was a share cropper. IM 73 and a retired manufacturing manager. I too have high blood pressure. I take 5 pills a day for it. We love foot ball but its not the end all be all in life. The are things far more important. Get your priorities in order. Life is short. Enjoy each day. Every thing will not always go your way but that's OK. Don't be a bully and don't think you always have to be right. Others have their opinions too. We will be alright with this coach. Have patience.

1) As the head coach at UT, Pruitt is hiring some quality assistants from teams in the current playoff, ie Kevin Sherrer at Georgia

2) As defensive coordinator at Alabama, there is an opportunity to coach against an opponent that has a depleted coaching staff, ie Kevin Sherrer at Georgia, or in the least a new subordinate.

Is this a conflict of interest?

That? No. Flipping a Bama commit to Tennessee, maybe. Flipping a Bama commit using inside info that he knows won't make the cut, yes. Would be surprised if Saban allows him anywhere near their recruiting meetings from now on.

I'll be praying for your health. All joking aside.

I started extremely poor, but am no longer.

That is not the definition of success.

Are there $$ reasons that saban cant just fire pruitt? Saban is getting a nice bonus for the playoffs and bigger if they win. Does pruitt get a bonus for these games?

I think saban needs him but would get rid of him in an instant if some commit tweeted about going to UT w coach p

Because he made a commitment to those kids and he’s not going to leave them hanging. All covered in his presser

he accepted the Job at Tennessee, he needs to be focused on TN, were in way worse shape than Bama

I hope Clemson wins so he has no more excuse to work for Bama

Little late to this sorry thread. I'll put it this way. I'd rather have a principled, dedicated coach at Tennessee than one who's just looking to jump at the next big paycheck, like Kiffin for example.

He stated plainly in the presser that he's going to finish what he started. He owes it to the kids he recruited and coached. He'll treat our kids the same way once he's here full time. Gillespie is the recruiting coordinator. I suspect he'll still be running point on that.

Folks are trying to make something out of nothing.

It's not making something out of nothing, Fulmer and Davenport introduced him as the coach of UT...yet he's still coaching Bama

We saw it before with Kirby Smart and a bit with Kiffin when he was at Alabama.

Pruitt is obligated under contract to finish out his duties as the DC for Alabama. It also shows he's loyal to the students that he's coached there. He will do what he can recruiting wise but he'll have to go back and coach the semifinal game. It is what it is.

I for one am glad to see we have a coach who will honor his commitments... this will go a long way toward attracting a higher caliper recruit!:eek:lol:

Would you want a coach with such a low character as to quit on his team?

I don't see it as quitting on his team...he accepted a new job...

I'm assuming you are a marine, how many times have you been prompted and continued in your old position...or, get PCS'd but continue to report to your old unit

Kirby Smart was hired to GA and still coached bama's championship (and won). Didnt seem to stop him now did it? Kiffin was run off before he could (and it cost bama IMO).

You had best believe TODAY he is out there recruiting staff and players (and he has some good inside notes I would bet). On game day, he wants to win for the bummers. Thats ok, I guarantee you next year, however, he will want to beat the socks off of Saban,

mods hold this message.

ok mods cant they are workers..lol

freak post mark this ..

Last time I checked, UT isn't playing any more games this season, so nothing really to coach. Bama is in the playoffs. Also, it's very clear that Coach Pruitt is heavily recruiting for UT, which should be his primary focus for us right now. He's already offered multiple targets, which I find astounding, given that he's only been on the job for about 24 hours.

Doesn't matter what he does as long as he wins. With such a dominant staff, 10 wins in year two won't be a problem. If it is, well we know why.

But wouldn't it have been cool if it had gone like this:

Reporter: Coach, do you you plan to finish your commitment to Alabama and coach in the playoff games?

Pruitt: Sir, my commitment to Alabama ended when my commitment here started.

Reporter: So you aren't going back to Alabama?

Pruitt: Oh I'm going back to Alabama. And when I do, Alabama is going to get trucked. Thank y'all for the questions. Go Big Orange.
