No one. Honestly yeah Ole Miss has beaten them twice, Auburn has beaten them twice, A&M once, LSU a couple times, Florida once, and South Carolina once. And a few of those were off of some lucky bounces (or kicks). Yeah, it sucks that they got blown out in their own house, but I never had them winning this game.

Alabama isn't about any one coach at this point, they are just a well oiled machine. They get #1 classes nearly every year. On the "down" years they are still top 5. Their 3 deep guys would be starters on at least 100 other FBS teams. They are the very definition of reloading. Hell the last two years were supposed to be rebuilding and they won a natty last year and most likely will this year. It sucks, not only because they are bitter rivals to one of my favorite teams, but it also makes college football as a whole very boring. Saban's loan weakness is the spread, and even that has the catch that you need a QB that can hit 4-6 different targets all over the field.

Jim tressel was a good QB in college, went through the coaching ranks, earned his spot the hard way at O state and did nothing but win. he can recruit through the roof. He has a brilliant football mind. His players took tattoos and cars from A hole O state boosters...not that big a deal to me. He then went and spent his year in the NFL as a consultant for pro teams. Teams hired him to make them a winner. Then he called in some favors at youngstown to get him back into college. He is just waiting for someone to throw enough cash at him. It will have to be a HUGE amount, but who ever gets him will beat alabama.

Half the starters are gone. Shoot has been amazing with what he's had to deal with.

That's the rub.
Our QB having no time to throw is nothing new.

This staff should have known that we wouldn't have time for our QB to make all reads standing in the pocket, and should have prepared for that, but they didn't. We still ran the system.

What should we have done? If you can't be Kiffin, at least copy Kiffin. We should have combo-blocked one of their DE and used a rolling pocket to that side. Run two receiver routes to that same side and allowed our QB to read half the field. If receivers are covered then the QB runs. If that works, keep doing it until the defense adjusts to stop it. Once the defense stops this, and they will by shifting the LB's (we got caught in that one), then there are many counters that can be used off of this same look to exploit the LB adjustment.

This loss is not on the players, this is all on coaching. Think about it. We don't have anyone on the offense side of the ball that played QB.

I don't know who the best 5 OCs are that need new homes, but we should be figuring that out and pay them whatever they want. We are the third biggest $ making university in college football. We need to start fixing these problems. TURF needs to be installed as well.

So the board complains incessantly about us hiring a senior citizen who was out of football for awhile. And you want to hire a guy who's been out of football and is OLDER than Debord??:crazy::crazy: OK....

You and me both. It's not that we lost. I can understand the loss. That was probably the worst, most embarrassing beat down in the history of UT football and I am still getting bent over from the folks in alabama this morning. That was being completely torn apart limb from limb in EMBARRASSING fashion by a group of thug rednecks from alabama in our own stadium when we could have fielded a team of all true freshman and scored 14 points for christ sake. That game was for the east, and florida is going to win out...they have another biweek before it's all over and we are going to be watching florida and alabama in the SEC and guess what that means? I'm am sick to my stomach and so pissed off and embarrassed I am ready for something to change and if this university takes itself seriously that will not fly and will not stand. Something will change. That was udder horse ****.

What?? Wow. This defense has been porous all year long.

Of course the injuries hurt us badly, they were and now are a big part of our defensive struggles.

But it's absolute willful ignorance to look at how our defense has played, from day one, and not recognize/not admit that this simply isn't a sound, well coached, well coordinated defense. It's just not.


Btw, you say we were "exhausted from staying on the field all day"....then how do you explain Bama's first scoring drive, their second possession, in the first half? Here are the plays.....

Run for 18 yards
Run for 13 yards
Run for 7 yards
Run for 27 yards, touchdown.

If our defense was playing so poorly because they were so exhausted in the first quarter, I guess Butch needs to go ahead and fire this S&C coach too.

I don't know if he can hire one. Butch hired Snoop who is considered one of the best DC's by people in the business who know a whole lot more than us. Already some fans have turned on him halfway thru the season. A new OC doesn't stand a chance if the offense isn't getting 300+ yards passing and 150+ rushing yards for every game and calls the plays every fan wants called.

I don't know if y'all could see it at home... But at the field there was SEVERAL deep ball carriers that was clear and open. Dobbs just through it to the wrong guy. Missed potentially 3-4 TD and possibly more 1st downs.

Debord is a joke.

I love Butch. I do. He's probably one of the most upstanding and better life coaches in the country. He's invited to my dinner table any day of the week unannounced. That's not the job.
