Seriously no. But if we could just run the ball, play some hard nosed football, maybe we could break one loose and score. You never know. At least JC wouldn't have a chance at one of his 10 yard punts.

in what games?

Crompton couldn't beat UCLA.
Stephens couldn't beat Wyoming

The only decent game Crompton had against an opponent with a pulse was UK. And he was only allowed to throw the ball 8 times, versus 52 runs.

Stephens played well against Bama. And they weren't all that bad last year.

I don't think Stephens is the answer to all that ails the offense, but I don't see anything changing with Crompton under center. I really hope he proves me wrong

So you'd prefer Kiffin lose all credibility with his players? He said who his QB is, and he intends to stick by his QB.

That is definitely an exaggeration. However, I am very impressed with Kiffin sticking to his guns, and I understand not wanting to rotate quarterbacks. But he also said the depth chart was fluid. He promised that players could compete for starting spots. So, how long do you give Crompton before it's time to try something different? I just worry how effective this offense can be if we have to go away from the pass and only let our QB operate an offense with training wheels.

Crompton, if Stephens is better he would have started the year...staff is not stupid...sorry haters.

I am definitely not a Crompton "hater". In fact, I like the guy. But you make the exact point that I am trying to make. Crompton has shown he is the better practice QB, but that has not translated onto the field. I understand that the staff wanted to look past how Crompton played in games last year. But the flipside is that you ignore the lessons that should have been learned then. It's the same story, Crompton is great in practice, but can't get it together when it matters most.

Players and quarterbacks are 2 different things. Player rotations means from week to week Brandon Warren can become 4th string. Sticking to your QB means that you don't destroy your team from the inside-out.
When you change QBs week-to-week or drive-to-drive it not only makes the QBs hesitent, but it can create a schism in the locker room. When a group gets along with 1 while the other gets along with the backup, you're on a slippery slope that'll lead to 05 and 08. Stick with a QB through the tough times, as it'll work out better in the long run.

Well said. I agree with the not being too quick to pull a QB, but I don't see Crompton putting us in the position to win games. I don't know if Stephens does either. But IMO he gives us the better chance to win.

Definitely Jim Bob Cooter. He and his criminal record would bring some much needed toughness and moxie to the QB position. He's like the anit-Tebow.

I hear St. Mary's School for the blind and mentally disabled has a good one we may be able to pick up. I hear we could double our pass completions with her.

Seriously though might as well be Crompton. I don't think it will matters much who we go with though. :mf_surrender:

Doesn't matter who the QB is, but might as well be Lamaison, odds are at least they haven't watched a ton of tape on him. Since we aren't expected to lose by less than 28, its not like they can criticize the move if it doesn't work (which I am sure it wouldn't)
