At least someone who doesn't stare down his receivers. Not only does Crompton not play smart he doesn't even look smart.

What is the record for the most consecutive running plays called in a game? We might shatter that record this saturday.

After watching the Crompton debacle in person, I say play all 3 of them and see if one can at least get something positive going.

I want the best QB on the roster.
Crompton it is.

I want the best QB on the roster under pressure.

That's not Crompton. He thinks he under pressure in his own stadium? He's NEVER seen anything like the swamp. OMG it's going to be ugly. :shakehead:

I'd love to see Berry. It would shock the hell out of them. Might honestly give us the best chance to win too. But since that won't happen, I say Stephens. While Crompton has proved he is the best QB at camp and in practice, he has also shown that he is horrible with live fire. Stephens has been better in games. However, Crompton could do better against Florida than people expect. Everyone is expecting us to lose and for him to get skinned alive, so the pressure of high expectations is certainly off.

I think Kiffin will go with Crompton, definitely limit the # of passes. He will also mix it up in the running game, see some toss sweeps, Brown and Hardesty out on the field at the same time, and maybe a little more Nu-Gun.

If Crompton plays like he did against UCLA and all of last season against the Gators, I expect Stephens to get the nod against Ohio.

Except when he was there 2 and 4 years ago...

Crompton couldn't beat UCLA.
Stephens couldn't beat Wyoming.

This talk of how "Stephens couldn't be any better" is absurd. The qb job was really close from what CLK said .He said it came down to that crompton was a LITTLE more accurate IN PRACTICE . Now CLK should be able to see that crompton can't handle pressure .Anyone who has ever PLAYED sports knows that some people are great players on the playground or at practice ,but can't compete when the pressure is on.Sorry ,but that is the way it is. What is troubling for me is that Crompton doesn't seem to understand or care how bad the decisions he makes are. Honestly ,I would pull myself .

Does it really matter? We don't have any linemen that will block long enough to let either one pass. Who knows who they would throw it to anyway, probably the other team 3 or 4 times.

JC is your starter.

First, asking NS to step in as the starter at the buzzsaw that is sure to be this Saturday, absent an injury to JC, is just asking way too much and on short notice to both him and the rest of the team.

Second, given the team discord that apparently surrounds JC right now, if CLK yanks him it sends such the wrong message to the team that they have some input in the decision.

Third, if CLK still thinks Crompton is the best QB, even if its just marginally, then you have to stick with that.

Fourth, if you bench Crompton now, it pretty much guarantees that he is lost for the season in any role, either as back up or coming back in as starter if NS failed, because of the insult it would represent and I just can't see him geting over that.
