eh..maybe, we'll see. Anyone can have a good defense with that Miami talent. And you know the guy wants to be a head coach again...and I'm tired of these coaches using Tennessee as a stepping stone.
The order I like theses guys
Chavis
Shannon
Steele
Thompson
We need recruiting help and I think Shannon is the best listed, followed by Steele.. Chavis is a good x's and o's guy, but doesn't have that enthusiasm for recruiting the others do.. Lsu is the perfect place for him, and I think that's where he will stay for a long time..
I agree with Shannon but Steele is a good recruiter but not a good x's & o's guy.look at the points his def. gives up in the ACC.I would take Chavis over Steele in a heartbeat.
Randy Shannon got my vote because John Chavis isn't even a serious possibility for starters...right ??
That wasn't the question. RS is the best defensive coordinator choice of that list. And his connections to the southern Florida area is priceless. Even if he is here for two years, it would be well worth it.
Wouldn't that be the case for ANYBODY we hire ??
I just don't understand the infatuation with Chavis all of a sudden? Three years ago all we heard was "Third and Chavis, Third and Chavis".... Get a grip people, with all the talent at LSU, I could coordinate a NC defense.
I'm not 100% sold on Shannon, simply for the fact that he would not be here long. If he fields some decent D's, then it's just a matter of time before he is offered another HC gig.
I wouldn't mind Steel because of his UT ties, but I personally think CLT deserves his shot. JMO.
