Just pay Nico; everyone else is doing the same thing. If he wants more money, so be it—everyone is asking for it. Nico is much better than he gets credit for; it was mostly the wide receivers and offensive line that contributed to the issues. The results from the other QB’s on the roster is a guarantee will not be anywhere near as good. I mean if I could get 4 million instead of 2 I would do the same thing.

So don't show up for your next work shift without calling me with a very good reason and I will tell you right then you can get along down the road. Get outta here!

I think this should be a lesson in regard to QB. I think you pick the best senior QB you think you can buy and flip from a power team every season. There is no point making a huge investment to train a QB only to have them transfer once they become valuable. Just buy the key positions and low pay the unproven recruits. I don't see any sense in giving a big salary to a senior in high school.

Why would CJH recruit guys that he has no intent on ever letting them play. Merk had a year to learn. Why not give him a shot? No different than Nico’s first 2 years. How did Merk look in the Spring game today? Everyone has to start their first game sometime! Let er rip.

OSU last year, Michigan the prev, Georgia with Bennet. None of the QBs were what I would consider elite. Seems like the supporting cast is just as important if not more so. I think Merk with a very good supporting cast will be fine. Do agree that we could use someone in case he gets injured though. Mac would be too risky.
