Where was Josh Malone?

I was behind the TN sidelines. He was dressed and catching balls in warmups but never saw the field if I remember correctly.

lol Three recievers caught a ball. Hurd got hurt. And all the nega Vols blame Dobbs. Dobbs will be fine next year you will see. Hope Crowder get back for the bowl game at center. That will help a lot. Alone with a lot of healthy bodies. Which in about 4 or 5 weeks we should be fine.

#3 has been trying to play through what I'm guessing is some type of shoulder injury, we know CBJ's policy on injuries.

Iff there was another game left I believe Butch would have not given the injury report but simply given the healthy list.

I heard an interesting theory yesterday about our WRs having shoulder injuries (if that's the case with Malone and North)
Thinks they've injured themselves constantly blocking on the edge for read option run plays and quick WR screens rather than running down field routes or at least just running the defender down field and away from the action like most WRs do.
Any coaches or former receivers in here think that's a possibility? I can see it but it still just seems like bad luck to me.

Lol everyone thinks we are awful on offense all the sudden but I'd like to see a team lose 3-4 recievers and a HB plus a center being out and score a ton of points

considering how freakishly big and physical our WRs are compared to other teams (North, Croom, Malone, etc...) it is interesting how they have all seemed to get or be hurt through this season.... when was the last time we had this much talent that seemed to always be dinged up? It would be interesting to see some sort of pie chart of type of injury vs position since we have had them all over the board....

I was fairly critical of the O yesterday, but when you stop and think about how thin we are, it's not surprising. I guess it's surprising we eeked out a win at all.

GBO. Get healthy and win the bowl game.

I love my Vols, Butch Jones, and Joshua Dobbs- However- Dobbs apparently has bouts of good & bad- Dr. Jeckyl/ Mr. Hyde. Our receivers were open most of the night. He was so inaccurate and erratic that they stopped even pretending to have an air attack.
True affection means you are not blind to imperfections. Most spread teams run slants and have the TE chip a rusher and drag. We don't for the most part- why? I would guess that we are afraid to have that option available in the middle of the field especially if the ball sails (which it consistently seems to do recently). Think- if most QB's need confidence, they run some short routes. We only would let him throw to the sideline (in case it sailed it would go into the stands.???)

That game would have been a blowout with Bray or maybe even Worley even with the injuries. It was also proof that our vols have grit to include Dobbs, who acknowledged it and drove on with his mission. I am proud of them. I just don't think it is all the OL and injuries to WR on O. Our defense manned up missing a key component. I love the aggressiveness. I am not blind though. Vandy put 8 in the box consistently and most will if Dr. Jeckyl is in the house.
Go Vols!

Good insight. Post more often!

I was at the game and I saw Malone on the field for at least one play, probably a few more, but there were no balls thrown his way.
