When you look at the rosters of title contenders for places Nico might land, tOSU stands out. Their best QB looks to be a RS freshman who didn't exactly light it up last year, or an incoming freshman. They didn't get an experienced QB in the winter transfer portal so maybe they went fishing with a lot of $$$ on the line and hooked Nico's dad. Wouldn't be surprised at all if tOSU is behind this thing--pay Nico for 1 yr. while their two inexperienced 5* QB's develop. Nico gets the $$$, OL and receivers he thinks he deserves, he goes pro next spring and tOSU gets an experienced QB for only a 1-yr commitment.
I can't find any legit tOSU sources about him coming to Columbus. As an easy Tennessee buckeye alum, id not want him there. Hope he lands on a team I hate so I can get some extra satisfactionIt's my conspiracy theory. The point is that tOSU could be the reason Nico entered the portal. They've got the roster Nico wants. None of the other projected landing spots have a better roster than the Vols. tOSU has the money. Would UCLA, TT, UW or UNC put up $3M or more for a QB that will only be there for a little over 6 months? If so, why?--he's probably not good enough to carry any of those teams to the playoffs. tOSU may think they have the need at QB if they want to increase their chances of a NC, and they probably wouldn't have any problem with breaking rules on illegal contact. tOSU is the only destination that makes any sense (Of course, I'm making the outlandish assumption that Nico's camp isn't a bunch of complete morons).
He traded for Randy Moss for very little and brought him into a dynasty that had leaders. They wouldn't tolerate nonsense and didn't necessarily need Moss. There is a difference. Miss couldn't be the Moss of the past in NE. If Nico went to UNC, he's not going into an established winner with established leaders. Miss was low risk/high reward, Nico is the opposite at a place like UNC.He signed Randy Moss. If anyone would look past the "this guy thinks he bigger than the school" and look at it as a business transaction it would be Bill. He has signed players and squeezed more out of them than anyone else, and he's ruthlessly cut guys.
Just depends if he thinks he's worth the money. Bill has $ to burn and doesn't like his QB room (is the rumor anyway).
Agree. But I’m not sure it mattered.I’m not sure Nico and his group have the leverage they think they have.
