Where is he?

I’m just curious if we got buyout help for allowing this.

I could look it up but I’m too lazy.

we're overpaying this coach so much that whatever buyout was paid is totally insignificant...don't hear me wrong, I'm not saying pruitt is a bad hire, but I do think it's obvious we overpaid (and, in fact, we had to) for another up and comer...who else was banging down his door to make him one of the highest paid coaches in the country?

Not sure 3.8 is overpriced

Should have gotten miles heard he would leave his uno game immediately to start. Jesus ppl be thankful we got a coach that the employer that they're leaving wants to keep them around as long as possible.

You have absolutely no evidence that him staying at Bama will help recruiting

You might think that and have an opinion on it but zero evidence

If you do post a link

It's a solid common-sense speculation. Good grief. We will get a lot of attention during Bama''s game/games just by Pruitt being on the sidelines. If their defense plays stout, all the better.

Those are opinions based on common sense and experience, not any kind of evidence...other than watching college football for about 45 years. Lighten up, please. It's all good.

From past happenings, Dan Mullen did it and said it was a mistake and that it made his recruiting difficult. This time he chose to immediately report for full time duty at Florida. Mark Richt also stayed at Florida State and he too said it hurt his efforts at Georgia and looking back he would have immediately started working for UGA.

Kirby Smart did it and took a very stable 10 win Georgia team down to 7 wins in year one.

The other major negative to me and I'm sure those who feel this way about it is that I consider it a football sin for the UT football head coach to be aiding Alabama with anything.

So hopefully Clemson wins 77-0 and ends this split roles nonsense.

Helping Bama, doesn't help Tennessee

These things matter. He has a rep with those kids. Kids talk to other recruits. They'll say CJP is a stand-up guys and if Bama's defense finally plays well against a dual threat QB then who wouldn't want to come play for him at UT? That brain of yours needs new cats bud.

We have the 8th or 9th most profitable program in the nation. Our pockets are deeper than most :victory:

couple of significant coaches, thoughts on the matter....
if attention is the driving force behind recruiting, we should easily be top 5, after all the attention Currie brought to the program, during his coaching search

If I had to guess, he is out recruiting. He said he would be doing recruiting and HC duties here until the dead period starts. The dead period is December 18th through January 11th. So he will do his duties here until December 18th, then go back to Bama to finish up. The NC game will be done before the dead period ends, so he can jump right back into recruiting after that.

If (like me) one only follow a very few on twitter, it is obvious that recruiting is EXACtLY what he is doing.

Side note: Good on VN to turn a lame thread premise into good discussion.

So you want him to throw a giant deuce on his previous commitments? To not only the players he brought to Bama and coached up, but the defensive coaching staff he was in charge of? His boss? Outstanding leader you must've been in your military days.
everybody's expendable. that is something you learn as a military leader. and that includes yourself. Gump would be just fine without him.

Just a few years ago. And I can verify that both mine and Okie/Illini/Arkie’s post counts have seriously diminished over the years. This is the most fired up Arkie has been about anything not dealing with Tiger in years.

Well this is a nonisssue. So he needs to pick and choose what he is fired up about more selectively.

The man has a job to do. The fact he only sees it his way, and doesn’t understand a man finishes his commitments before setting out to new endvors blows my mind honestly.

You have 36,000 posts and only 2,500 likes....I’m new around here, but that should be a wake up call to you about your perception of the world and how you’re perceived by others.

Means nothing.

He probably had 35,000 before we got the like function and 95% were made in the endzone.
