So who is tailgating and where? And who wants to accommodate 6 guys driving down from north Alabama. We'll bring some beers

I thought they were selling beer in the stadium. I've heard the whole stadium, i've heard just club level, and i've heard not at all.

I would recommend hotels near the Buckhead Station MARTA (like 5 hotels) or the Holiday Inn in Decatur which is walking distance to the Decatur MARTA.

Those worried about the safety of MARTA shouldn't. It will be packed with football fans on Friday. Much safer to take MARTA than to drive drunk!

What about the hotels in Dunwoody (atl perimeter center). Several there where 285 and 400 meet. There is a MARTA line very close it seems but might be what a 30 minute marta ride?

Is this different than the lenox mall MARTA?

They sold beer at chicfila bowl, so I would imagine they do the same for chicfila kickoff classic. As far as tailgating, there are several lots around the stadium where you can drink no problem. If you're taking Marta there are some bars around or the CNN center(kind of like tailgating in a mall food court. Fast food and cheep beer).

Staying at the Omni Hotel it is the closest hotel to the Georgia Dome easy walk to it. Also the safest hotel not saying it is safe but its the best you will get to being safe....Cant wait to tailgate! Anybody know if it is ok to be drinking outside of stadium and if they sell beer in stadium?

They sold beer last year, but they quit serving at the end of half-time for games starting after 6 pm. You can't take any beverages into the Dome.

So this is where the team is staying?

Yes, that is what I was told. The last time we stayed with the team was at the Westin in Pasadena in 2008. Lots of fun for my 10 (6 at that time) year old son and it was pretty cool for an old guy like me too. Go Vols!!

Waverly is the team hotel. Get a group rate by going through the chick fil a kickoff website. $149 I think. Clemson is staying there too.
