No they didn't, God has been in existence forever. Man has no concept of forever or infinity because there is a beginning (birth) and an ending (death). God is love and will show you if you accept his son Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior. Then you do believe something came from nothing then. God had to come from somewhere. Someone or some thing had to create him.
Several years ago, I had a heart attack and died in the front lawn. True story, not joking. The ambulance came pretty quick and they hit me with the paddles three times. I was revived and taken to the hospital a few blocks away.
People have all these stories about seeing lights and stuff before they were brought back. That didn't happen with me. There was nothing. Then again, I'm an atheist, so maybe there's a different set of rules. But keep in mind, a lot of atheists are really good people. You try to help others and be respectful, helpful, etc... but the short answer is I don't know if there's an afterlife, but I seriously doubt it.
Before we were born we were nothing, but try to imagine that. It just seems insane. Now after we die is it just like that? Just blackness forever? What was the point of everything?
What if you don't go anywhere? What if you lay in a box and just deteriorate? Is there any proof you go to heaven or hell? I want to hope I go to heaven and all my lived ones will to, but no one will ever know till it's their time. My point is, enjoy each moment like you'll never experience it again. Live by your what you feel is right or wrong and the rest will work itself out.
My real thoughts on this. You die and become part of the food chain. The end. Regardless of if you're buried or cremated. I think the bible has some good stories that try to teach how to live your life in relationship to everyone around you. I live by the so called golden rule. Not because I want to or strive to, it's just the way I'm wired. This rule was written 4-500 years bc. To me, there is nothing after death. I'm not concerned because I plan to live forever. So far, so good and no one can prove me wrong.
