Where do you go when you die?

I choose to believe in God from the Holy Bible. I've got an issue with mankind being the top of the food chain. A higher power makes more sense to me, than the odds earth just forming by chance. Science says the universe is expanding, and to work the puzzle backwards the universe came from nothing, sounds a lot like creation from the Holy Bible.

To believe in nothing is still something.

Then you must believe there is something higher than God, if you're going to keep following that chain of thought.

Ask the ones who wrote the Bible, which is what the poster says he believes, so for that poster, it's "him".

I understand. But I also understand that the people who wrote the Bible were men. And that document was in turn used, and is still used, to keep women in their "place". I find feminist theology fascinating, btw, because before looking into it I had never conceived of the idea that perhaps God was intentionally identified as a man on purpose. Just food for thought. Not trying to ruffle feathers or disagree with anyone's beliefs.

I definitely believe God was identified as a man on purpose.

Where you go when you die is on you.

I bet I know where this thread winds up eventually, tho. :)

Then you do believe something came from nothing then. God had to come from somewhere. Someone or some thing had to create him.

I do believe something came from nothing.

Someone or something did not have to create him, the option of him being the one creating all that exists, is what I chose to believe.

As for being able to explain it all so others will chose to believe, I doubt I'm capable.

I fear I would do the task a terrible injustice, and would most likely be a stumbling block rather than an inspiration.

"But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself."

Philippians 3:20-21

another question - whats more crowded heaven or hell ?

Gotta be hell. Given how many non-Christian religions there are as well as people who no longer believe in the Bible, they have zero chance of Heaven because they don't believe Jesus is the one true prophet and way to Heaven. Muslims have muhammad who flew a winged horse while Christians have Jesus who walked on water. Muslims think Christians are going to burn based on their book of beliefs. Christians think muslims are going to burn based on their book of beliefs. I've believed in a God most of my life but over the years have gone away from it because I don't see enough evidence to follow any one religion and don't have the blind faith it takes.

For all we know, we're a product of Electronic Arts in a more advanced planet. Someday EA will breed life into the Sims and humans will be their God while they're stuck in their hard drive world. The more items added from expansion packs, the more their world expands and evolves. Repeat the process over and over again and it's like a simulation within a simulation. Of course I believe none of that haha but technology is ever advancing. It can be acquired and used as to where believing in God requires prayer in hopes someone above will answer your call. Does nothing for me personally. Could I say that with certainty? No, but it's the more reasonable conclusion.

Barring death or the rapture, science and technology seem to be the best solution to figuring out what we're doing here. Also the quickest solution to destroying us all, but it's too late to worry about that now haha. Just gotta keep moving forward with the threat of nuclear warfare always looming. Should anyone survive, they can write their own scripture about a previous race non-mutant race. Somewhere down the line, people will eventually start believing it to be a fairy tale and the human race will be believed to have been made up.

Speaking of what you believe happens when you die... like Fry from Futurama being frozen only to end up in the future, remember Ted Williams beliefs and his family fighting over what he wanted down with his body? Ted Williams Frozen In Two Pieces - CBS News

I don't know, for a fact, what will happen when I die. The funny thing is, no one else knows either. People may choose to believe whatever they want, but they don't know.

Was my post so poorly written that it is almost impossible to understand? Because when I think of firestorm that's what comes to mind.

Sorry my joke wasn't clear - he tends to say really obvious things. I agree with what you're saying and I think reasonable person would.
