Where did life begin? (Merged)

Do you believe we have a creator, aka "God"?

Our only source to truly know God is to know ourselves first.

You will really get to know yourself when you carefully study the bible. that word is like a mirror showing all the faults and failures that we all have. God accurately recorded the sins of far greater Christians than me anyways.

God didn't record that, mankind did.

Good question. Since no person truly knows, everyone will have to employ some faith for the answer.

Faith is something that should be used as seldom as is possible; it's certainly not a virtue.

So yeah, I have faith that there isn't a god in the same way I have faith that Santa won't be coming down my chimney here in a couple weeks. I have no evidence that it won't happen, but I also have no good evidence that it will.

is it a sin to admire god's perfection when he made something this fine?

if that's not divine intervention to create a masterpiece, i don't know what is.

I just wanna give you props, you’ve always been totally respectful towards myself anyway, knowing we believe differently. That speaks a lot about your character imo.
Thank you Joe coming from you that means a lot. I may not believe but I don't look down on anyone that does. I know I could be wrong and I sincerely hope I am. I'm an atheist not an anti theist.

read previous posts

The reasons you've given in previous posts are similar to those given by adherents of Nostradamus.

If we define knowledge as justified true belief, then I believe the only box you've checked so far is belief. I'm asking how you know.

Fair post. Although you are missing a huge point. The scientific method is essentially begins with faith.

Does not the complexity of the universe not speak of a brilliant creator? what solution would you like to offer that could possibly make more sense?

I talked to the Lord today, I have a personal relationship with him. I know Him, He is my Lord and my Friend! He has answered many prayers and has been a great provider of my needs.
You may scoff all you like but it does not change the fact that He is alive and well and lives and works in the hearts of his people! Just as I have a relationship with other people I have a relationship with my Lord!

If God can speak the world into existence, don't you think that he could give us a book of instruction on how to live and more importantly how to know him?

If he can give us the ability to understand written language he should be able to do that without a book. It would be innate.
