I remember when my children were little, it was almost Christmas time and my little boy wanted a john deere tractor for Christmas. a toy version of coarse. my little girl wanted a cabbage patch baby doll for Christmas. at the time I was driving a dump truck for a living and was laid off for the winter and times were hard. all I had to buy presents with was a $250 credit card from sears/K-mart. I have been teaching my children to pray and they were very dedicated to pray every day. My daughter was especially fervent in her prayers. I looked all over K-mart for a john deere tractor and a cabbage patch baby doll but they just didn't have one but every day my children were faithful to pray!
I was very concerned about what that may do to their faith in God if he didn't answer their prayer and I spoke to the Lord about it often. there wasn't anything that I could do about it so we bought the closest thing that we could find and left it at that.
to my surprise, the girls Sunday school teacher said that they would pick a random family out of the church and buy Christmas presents for them and she said that the Lord had put my children on their heart this time. they had no knowledge of the situation at all and didn't even know that I was laid off at the time. she told me that she had no idea what they might like, so they got Billy a little John Deere tractor and Autumn a cabbage patch baby doll!!!! My mother-in-law bought my daughter a cabbage patch baby doll as well!! Autumn probably prayed about at least twice as much as Billy did!!!!
That may be trivial to you but knowing what I knew and the others having absolutely no knowledge of it, what do you think? GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad your kids got a tractor and the doll they wanted.
Why do you think it answered your prayer for toys and doesn't answer the prayers from the parents whose kids are afflicted with ailments like acute lymphocytic leukemia? Do you think it's a matter of how hard they pray or how often, a quality versus quantity thing?
