I remember when my children were little, it was almost Christmas time and my little boy wanted a john deere tractor for Christmas. a toy version of coarse. my little girl wanted a cabbage patch baby doll for Christmas. at the time I was driving a dump truck for a living and was laid off for the winter and times were hard. all I had to buy presents with was a $250 credit card from sears/K-mart. I have been teaching my children to pray and they were very dedicated to pray every day. My daughter was especially fervent in her prayers. I looked all over K-mart for a john deere tractor and a cabbage patch baby doll but they just didn't have one but every day my children were faithful to pray!
I was very concerned about what that may do to their faith in God if he didn't answer their prayer and I spoke to the Lord about it often. there wasn't anything that I could do about it so we bought the closest thing that we could find and left it at that.
to my surprise, the girls Sunday school teacher said that they would pick a random family out of the church and buy Christmas presents for them and she said that the Lord had put my children on their heart this time. they had no knowledge of the situation at all and didn't even know that I was laid off at the time. she told me that she had no idea what they might like, so they got Billy a little John Deere tractor and Autumn a cabbage patch baby doll!!!! My mother-in-law bought my daughter a cabbage patch baby doll as well!! Autumn probably prayed about at least twice as much as Billy did!!!!
That may be trivial to you but knowing what I knew and the others having absolutely no knowledge of it, what do you think? GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad your kids got a tractor and the doll they wanted.

Why do you think it answered your prayer for toys and doesn't answer the prayers from the parents whose kids are afflicted with ailments like acute lymphocytic leukemia? Do you think it's a matter of how hard they pray or how often, a quality versus quantity thing?

Negative. Unless if by "has holes in it "you mean that every single attempt to recreate it, even given advantages and stimuli that never ever occur in nature on this planet, has still been a total failure.

Even when every possible amino acid that is the building block for living cells have been placed in sterile environments with optimal conditions...and added every type of natural or unnatural energy such as electricity or radiation...the result is the exact same. Nothing. Man will never create life.

Abiogenesis is one of the areas where i believe it takes more faith from the atheist to believe that all life came from some primordial soup, accidentally mind you, than to simply believe only a Creator can create life.
Oh my gosh it’s goid to see you my friend! I’ve literally thought about you a lot, and I hope everything is okay.

Not trying to knock you but the logic escapes me because your prayer for toys and gifts is granted by God. In Haiti or the Sudan, there is a father praying that God grants his child food or basic medical care, but God sees it fit not to grant these prayers.

As a young Christian, my mother who did not know the Lord lived in Eskdale WV with her sister. My aunt had a beer joint in the basement of her house. her business was very good and my mother would help work in her bar. it grieved me very much as the bible clearly teaches against drunkenness and such lifestyles.
My church was in revival and I was fasting and praying that week of meeting and was very heavy burdened over my mothers lost condition and was very troubled about her working in that beer joint. I called my mother to witness to her and plead with her about accepting Christ as her savior. I shared with her my concern about her working in that beer joint and told her that I was going to pray that God would shut it down. She laughed at me and thought that it was so funny that she got her sister on the phone and she giggled and laughed and said, ' honey you just pray all that you want' ,and they even mocked and thought it was hilarious.
So I fasted and prayed with all my heart and even asked my church to help me pray.
the following month, my aunt called me and told me to quit praying for her! she told me that her business had fallen off considerable and she wanted me to quit praying. She didn't know it but that was like throwing gas on the fire!!! I prayed so much the more and within a few short months the bar was closed!!!! She had tried to open it back up three times with all three times a failure!!! the last time her basement flooded out and she hasn't tried since!!!
My dear sweet aunt is now a firm believer in answered prayer!!!!

it was much more about a God that answers prayer rather than the prayer that got answered. they know now as they are older that they can call on God for whatever needs may be in their life! I was a young Christian then and God was teaching me that He cares and answers prayers!
I don't have all the answers for every bad thing that happens in this world other than we are in a sin cursed world and God is right in whatever prayer he chooses to answer and what he does not choose to answer.
I am not trying to sound like a smarty britches but God is very good and loves all of us very much!!

the bible clearly teaches that all suffering and death came from mans choice to disobey God. man has a free will to serve God or serve himself.
we are living in a sin cursed world and death and sickness is coming to all of us sooner or later.

So the children suffering in St. Jude’s are suffering because they “don’t believe”?

Serious question: If I’m Bangladeshi and can’t read English (and certainly not the 1611 KJV), what version should I read?

there are missionaries that God sends to places like Bangladeshi. it is a great responsibility to share the gospel to the entire world! and I'm sure that God would get them a translation of the word of God in a language that they can understand. He is God after all!!

We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ to receive the things we have done in this body, whether they be good or bad! The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

Just because it hasn't been recreated yet doesn't mean it can't or won't be.

Also, abiogenesis doesn't have to be true for there to be no god(s). I'm interested in arguments for god, not shifting the burden of proof.

Dear unbeliever friends, there is not one person on planet earth that knows everything!
Do you think that it would be possible that God exists in the tremendous amount of things that you don't know about? I have met people that you have never met before! Do you think that it is possible for me to have met our maker and you have not?
I am trying my best to introduce you to him!!! I would be very happy to tell you how you could get to know him better or even at all!

Irony.

God has answered my prayers in mighty ways very very similar to this. Ihave shared here before also when doctors left my unborn daughter for dead...twice...and told my wife and I that "it" ( my daughter) would be passed out pf my wifes body in 2 to 3 days. She is now 9 years old, looks just like her mama, beautiful, and is a straight A student with no health problems. Praise His holy name. Even if he slay me this day, I will praise His name.

At best, it's a very weak theory.

I would say, respectfully, that i am not shifting the burden of proof. That burden lies on those who make claims of certainty either for or against the existence of God, moreover on one who is attempting to persuade others to adopt their beliefs. I certainly am not. Faith is personal in my opinion, and others are just as entitled to their beliefs as i am to mine. Nobody cpuld ever convince me my God is not real, i know some atheists believe just as adamantly. Best wishes to you and yours, be you atheist, agnostic, whatever. Go Vols

Thank you dear friend for sharing that with me! God has answered too many prayers for me not to believe!!! Things that nobody knew about but me and God, and couldn't be explained any other way but God working in my life!! Bless the Lord for his mercy and grace!!!!

How do you define sin?
