Good record

King James who was famous for his hatred of his brother has the translators include the words “without cause” to this vs. interesting how it changes its meaning.

New International Version
But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, 'Raca,' is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell.

New Living Translation
But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell.

English Standard Version
But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire.

Berean Study Bible

"But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be guilty before the court; and whoever says to his brother, 'You good-for-nothing,' shall be guilty before the supreme court; and whoever says, 'You fool,' shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell.

King James Bible
But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

NET Bible
But I say to you that anyone who is angry with a brother will be subjected to judgment. And whoever insults a brother will be brought before the council, and whoever says 'Fool' will be sent to fiery hell.

KJV came from the Received text which is the correct text. The new versions came from a different set of text which the KJV translator had similar text that they rejected and considered faulty. :hi:

The Bible actually says in multiple places that Christians are to be subject to governing authorities, and my thought would be that the constitution would be considered a governing authority.

ETA: After tonight, after reading your post, I can never vote for an atheist/agnostic, as they are all hyper-generalizing blowhards.

I wouldn't vote for an atheist either. they don't even know where they came from! :)

Lol
KJV didn’t have access to the older copies discovered after 1611. These are not Torah. They were not meticulously copied by scribes to insure their accuracy. There are many things included in the KJV that just don’t appear in copies dated earlier. I’m sorry but with ancient writings the older versions are less likely to have errors

I'm actually quite glad you acknowledge that. The reason I assume otherwise is based on personal experience.

For the record, I actually define as an existential Christian. I find some dangers with total atheism as well.

In 24 hours G-d had the earth bring forth the animals?

Kjv
24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

For some reason Christians who reject science/evolution never what to Talk about this.

If G-d is a G-d of laws (he is....it’s called Torah) does it not make sense that His creation would also be based on rules/laws. Would His action of creation not follow the rules/laws that He set up.

Westcot and Hort were heretics, a careful study of these men's lives is enough for me to stay away from the new versions.

Second question. Given that you assumed I was atheist or agnostic, does that mean you hyper generalized just as much if not more?

They didn’t have them to consider/reject as they didn’t know of their existence.

And don’t get me started on their expertise in the wrong form of Greek.
Those translators were brilliant men that knew the language very well. They were some of the most brilliant minds of their day. They got it right.:hi:

Read it again. It was for funny. Looks like it only took you 30 minutes to spot the joke, even if you didn't get it.
