You have to realize where we re at as a program. No depth on either line of scrimmage. Implementing new schemes on both sides of the ball. First year head coach. Strength and conditioning was non existent for three years; if you don’t think this has a serious effect on the teams strength and stamina then you’ve prob never participated in high school or collegiate sports. We have a good nucleus of playmakers on the offensive side of the ball and perhaps two very bright pieces on the defensive side of the ball in Alontae Taylor and Bryce Thompson. Need more speed in the linebacking core and more bodies for the interior simple as that. Prior to the season I thought 6-6 would be an outstanding year considering what he was walking into and we still have a chance at obtaining that. After beating Auburn I think fans expected to win every game after that excluding Bama. I thought as well that we could but I also understood to not be shocked if we lost some considering growing pains were more than likely going to happen. As long as Pruitt can keep this recruiting class together and land a couple of the big fish we will be fine.

After Kevin Burnett makes amends with Rohan Davey's mom and get the curse lifted.

Cute but I don't think this will resolve anything.

I will be willing to bet you that 35%+ on this board have no clue as to what you are talking about......

64% completion percentage which is 4th best in the SEC. 2 pics which is 2nd fewest behind Tua, 4th best QB rating. All this while under constant pressure and very little run game to provide balance. But please, carry on with your “common sense”. I’m just stating facts
3-5..6th in the SEC..Facts.

4th best in the SEC gets you 15th best in the SEC...

Will it end?? Football at Tennessee is just about killing my soul.. When will we win again on a consistent basis ever again? We looked like we played hard Saturday? Our RB's looked like they ran the ball hard. It appeared to me that the players were hitting harder and flying to the ball at times. Man I wish we could catch a break or two during a game!!!
I think you just nailed most every fans feeling. Patience is a virtue, they say...but man, collation should be patron saints of patience. I do think we are closer to be relevant than in the past few years. My sanity, however, needs to see a few more wins. Winning two of next 3 sec games would go a long way to giving me hope for a better 2019.

A giant negativity cloud has settled over Neyland and its raining assholes. We need to have a chicken killing while smoking a chicken leg sitting crosslegged singing kumbaya backwards.

It is rather baffling that schools like Fresno State, South Florida, Utah, Kentucky, and Appalachian State can build top 25 “programs” yet Tennessee is a perpetual rebuild situation.
.

The only school in that list that plays a similar schedule to UT is Kentucky, and they’ve given Stoops 6 years to build that program. Most schools like UT and UF don’t have the patience for a 6-year rebuild. The rest of the schools in that list play crap teams where 6-8 wins is a given, so every few years when the team is loaded with seniors, they win 10+ games and everyone is impressed.

I preface this by saying I’m a CJP supporter and think we get 5 maybe 6 wins this year to my content as a vol fan this year.
The question I have is....
If we have only 4 wins heading into the Vandy game, with no possibility of a bowl championship lol, do the players quit like they did last year against Vandy. Boy if that happens this place will be calling for Pruitt’s head like never before, maybe rightfully so.

Hypothetically speaking maybe but I’d like to think vandy Mizzou and Charlotte are all wins

Which makes me think, has anyone said anything about the team quitting in the Uscjr game ? I kinda stopped watching bc I knew the wheels were falling off and knew what was about to happen.

Many will disagree but its going to take 3-5 years. I mean we are on our 4th HC since 2009. Our 3rd S&C coach since 2015. 4th OC and 3rd DC since 2014. Now I am sure some will say that if he doesnt win At a high kevel next year then he isnt the guy. Thats foolish. What does all this mean? Simply put, you cannot just keep hiring and firing.

Depends on where he recruits. With Tennessee's budget it really should be top 10 every year. That is talent to compete with. Back half of top 20 not so much. That's what i worry about the most with Pruitt. Can he get the guys here to win with? A lot of good coaches out there with inferior talent that get fired because of it.

Charlotte is a win, Vandy is a 50/50, Missouri is more likely than not going to beat us. Lock is legit and they have a defensive line that will be a real mismatch for our OL. It's not impossible by an stretch of the imagination but we will need to play very well.

LOL we are underdogs to Vandy and Missou... If we win 1 of those I'd be shocked...

Budget has little to do with it.... Why would any top recruit come here? TO get playing time? Hell if they are that good they get playing time ANYWHERE....and play for an established winning team....

LOL, I've gone on many a long hike on Saturdays, esp. TSIO. I couldn't this year because of an injured foot. The one positive in all this mess the last 10-14 years is that I became a member of the 900 miler club in the Smoky Mountains, hiking all the trails in the park. Almost got my 2nd map done. I really hope the glory days come back soon.
You are so lucky to have such a wonderful resource at your disposal. As a Tennessean, I miss that here in Raleigh NC. I hate the flatland. I do my walking on my treadmill. While you look at trees.
