That's how you know when things are getting heated up (hot seat) for coaches.

Look at Strong and the recruiting sex scandal rumors while in Louisville. They are looking for reasons to fire him.

It's no coincidence that rumors start swinging when coaches feel the heat.

Absolutely. If we were even 4-1 with wins over the two teams we lead by two scores in the 4th, there is no way this Mack Crowder garbage would be getting any traction (and I still don't think it deserves it). The fan base is angry and the media is eager to feed it. Sources willing to spread negative information become easier to find when things aren't going well. They always remain unnamed, however.

If we were 5-0 like we should be, people would be getting Butch Jones tatoos of him and Jesus.

Our fan base is embarrassing and going out of the way to get a man fired regardless of knowing any facts. How many "well this is a good way to not pay the buy out" posts have you seen the past three days.

Down right embarrassing and just plain sh*tty

Once you keep the anonymous nature of online forums in mind when visiting, all of the words that you read here can be kept in proper perspective. Like a bathroom wall, people feel they can spew any sort of nonsense and not ever have to be accountable for it. Sure, their are some idiots that act that way in real life. But they are much more the exception than the rule.

On these boards those tables are flipped. People just voice whatever the fell like voicing and care nothing about the accuracy or sanity of it in many cases. They feel it ... then they type it.

Don't get to caught up in the Fhar Butch & Co blather that has flooded this board. It starts heavily on Monday and wanes significantly by Friday. The reasonable and logical posters will go into hiding, while the "hand wringing school girl" types take over after each loss. Many times, they are the very same posters who were saying "10-2 this year, Book It" about 2 months ago.

Nobody's happy about our season so far. But always picture this as a "bathroom wall" and the childishness, emotion, and ignorance flooding this place makes a lot more sense.

he is firing himself. He should have never let our oc go to tampa and look at the offense now.
He is getting himself fired by not keeping the momentum he started.

Do you see no difference in firing for performance vs firing some one over alleged claims of striking a player that no one has or have been able to confirm?

That some folks here even feel fine with spreading BS even if it isn't true is a sad reflection of society. Just throw dirt and make wild claims, and some idiot fans think it is a good thing. If Butch Jones isn't winning in year 4 things will be looked at. People just don't have any patience, whether he is the right man for the job or not which I still have confidence that he is he still deserves 4 years. Last year we would have been blown out of these contest we are getting close and admittedly could and should have probably already won a few of them games this year. Still it should be obvious that he is recruiting better than Dooley ever did and really only has basically primarily freshman and sophmores almost exclusively playing and playing pretty well overall. Many teams have freshman playing but most every one of them teams also have a mix of season veterans playing besides them. I haven't liked all of the coaches decisions but we are improving and 2 more classes and we will out talent many of the teams no matter what. Worst case scenario Butch doesn't make it past 2016 the next coach comes into a team of veteran players and the job is attractive. Fire him now like a few nuts want and you aren't going to get anybody of consequence to take it on are that has confidence the university or it's nut fringe will give it a chance to build the program.

This, plain and simple. I've learned a lot about this fanbase over the last 5 or 6 years. Main thing being, that we are no different and quite possibly worse than bama fans. Talk about embarrassing.

Every fan base has a lunatic fringe. Ours is as bad as anyone's and quite vocal. Still, they are very much a small minority. We will have 100K plus fans in Neyland on Saturday and 95% of them will not even be aware of this rumor.

Who and how is the fanbase trying to get him fired? You think Dave Hart fires someone because some fans discuss a rumor on a message board?

"Butch, I was skimming through on VN and some of the fans think you punched Mack Crowder. Now I don't know what went down and I don't care. But the rumors are too much for the program. I'm sorry, but we're gonna have to let you go Butch."

Swain Event show. WVLZ 1180 7-10am
Swain said he won't talk about this today.
Only talking about Georgia.
Stokes is not there and Swain has not said why.
All he has said is that it's his show and he won't let it go off the tracks like it did Tuesday when he and Stokes and callers talked about it all show.
He referenced that Stokes has other outside interests (probably referring to the article that Stokes put out on a web site yesterday about Crowder/Jones).

Stokes now there at 7:55am
No reason given for why he didn't speak for first 55 minutes of show. Could have just been late.
Very odd though that Swain apparently won't allow Stokes to talk about Crowder.
