When Does Richmond get Benched?

He did on that first play. After that he held his own pretty well. As for Richmond, I have to think that if we had anyone better they would've already made the move
I thought it was pointed out on Volnation the first play was the guard's blown assignment and not Kennedy's fault.

If I remember correctly that first play in the wvu game wasn’t on Brandon Kennedy but another player that missed an assignment it was addressed on a couple of the radio shows.

Even if we hold onto wanya and get Darnell wright you have to understand that’s two true freshmen playing the 2 most important spots on the OL. With that being said a cardboard cutout of someone is just as good as Richmond so they’ll be upgrades
freshmen on the O line is always tricky. but they're the #1 and #2 tackles in the country. they'll at least be in the two deep i would imagine.

the thing that gives me some hope with bringing those two, plus the interior guys we're bringing in, and in getting Kennedy back next year is that we should finally at least have the #'s to put two groups of 5 together. that should help with the learning curve for all involved, and should help with continuity among either rotation.

not gonna tell you they're gonna be good/great. but you gotta start somewhere, and a full rotation of players that can actually play is as good as any place.

The offensive line coach probably should get a little blame to imo….ain't no way that o-line should be that bad..the defensive line hasn't been impressive to...so this could be a maybe a coaching staff problem or strength n conditioning coach problem to

Are we certain that’s really “help”? Seems like I’ve seen this movie several times over the years only to eventually be disappointed yet again. I recall only a few years ago that Richmond himself was the “help” that was on the way.
Same movie different Directors. This one will be an

i dont know but one thing i do know is are o line is going to look way better with the number 1 o line in 2019 and getting Brandon Kennedy back
Well, we thought it would look better when we got Richmond and Trey Smith as 5 stars, so let’s not count our chickens before they hatch.

Hall getting playing time is my only suggestion. That is a player that I feel comfortable saying will sure up at least one side of the line.
If he is back to his old self. Have heard several different radio guys indicate he would never be the same due to his injuries.

From everything I heard and read it is my understanding he wasn't beat so much on the first play as it was miscommunication. Blown assignment always ends up looking bad.

One of the many 5 star bust that have came through our program. He will probably go on and have a great NFL career.

Why not put Richmond at LT, Smith at LG, and if Chance Hall is healthy then put him at RT? Was Chance's injury that severe to where he can only play guard now?

Suggestions for this season? Tatum, Niehouse, Harris? Come on fellas

I think the answer is that, other than Smith, we don't have anything other than warm bodies to plug in anywhere on the OL. Whatever the reason, whether it's injuries, poor development, laziness, poor evaluation of potential, guys recruited to play 1 scheme that haven't grasped the new scheme yet, the yips, eating bad chicken salad prior to every game, it just doesn't matter. We don't have healthy, developed talent on either the OL or the DL, and that is essentially crippling us. If Pruitt had a magical solution on the bench, we'd have seen him by now.

Yep, we said the same thing when Richmond signed. Never can tell about ol commits.

Richmond had some issues regarding his work ethic and level of competition coming out of high school which was why his ratings dropped. He was originally rated a 5* by many sites coming out of high school

At this point just settle on a group and let them figure it out. There are no silver bullets in this water gun. Even if they still get beat they could at least get on the same page and save a few sacks from general miscommunication.

Because many on here believe he is a first round draft pick for some reason, first round offensive lineman don’t get beat on pass protection as often as he does
True, I think he's playing out of position he's really good at guard not all that good at tackle especially left tackle
