What's the timetable for success?

are you more excited about next year now than you were at the end of the season?
I am. No question.

I remember Pearl's first year. No one expected much. Then, we beat a good Texas team - bad. At that point, I knew for sure we were onto something. I suspect, if he is a good coach, we will see a better result in the first year, than people are expecting. Does this mean getting into the NCAA tourney? Not necessarily, but maybe we will be knocking on the door.

Now that we're definitely not getting Pearl back and the coaching search is over, how long are we supposed to give Tyndall before we start looking for his replacement? I assume that part of the reason for seeking someone who would accept a low buyout is so they are easily replaced but I also doubt the AD expects to need to exercise that option 1 or 2 seasons in. What's reasonable to expect from this guy in the opinion of the people who think it's a good - great hire?

I say it's been long enough....on to the next one.

Zo was held to that standard according to you negadiva's though! And I don't care what your abilities are at rating players. I zoned you for a know nothing pretty much from the jump. As far as I'm concerned, Tyndall is inheriting EXACTLY what Cuonzo did. Let's see what he does with them.

You were on quite a roll swinging at those windmills this evening.

You're making a fallacious argument. People weren't wanting to run first year Zo out of town. They were wanting better basketball from 2.75 year Zo with a roster stacked with All-SEC players and seniors.

So no, Zo wasn't held to any extreme standard before he coached a game.

He split, up and left the Vols in a lurch. No big men to speak of. Tough sledding for the new guy. Not sure why you can't just get over him. You sound like you have battered person syndrome, just can't help defending and pining for the person who actually wronged you and blaming others who don't praise that person as the problem.

Also, the 7'1 signee, well, according to the Cal board the NCAA has disallowed his classes and he's not likely to be admitted. So you can probably scratch he'd ever have landed here.

If he doesn't go undefeated and win the NCAAT in year 1, then I'm looking for a petition!

jk

In all honesty, like everyone else says, about 3 years to make the tourney. It'll be exciting to see how our team plays next year! Go Vols!
