What type of QB does Gruden favor?

He probably prefers QB's not named Simms or King. He has to love the fact he can handpick who he wants every recruiting cycle instead of relying on the draft.

I`ll tell you precisely what kind of QB he favors. He favors a Casey Clausen! He wants a leader on the field. He wants someone with ice in his veins,that can be clutch in game-winning drives at the Swamps&Bryan-Dennehy. He wants an intelligent QB that can read and react. He wants a precision passer who won`t throw INTs. Most of all,he wants a QB that can do play action AND HAND THE DAMN BALL OFF TO HIS STUD RB STABLE,SO THEY CAN RUN THROUGH THE GAPING HOLES THE GINORMOUS LINE CREATES!!!! Gruden plays SEC football,not pansy-ass Oregon sh**!!! Go Vols!

I have seen comments like this pop up from time to time and I think it is being over "analyzed" and taken for more than what it is. Gruden and C. Kelly are actually good friends and it is well known that Gruden loves the x's and o's of the game and football is what he breaths. It more has to do with a guy like Gruden keeping up with the "times" and studying different type of attacks and schemes. There is a very good and lengthy article about Gruden that came out a couple years ago, can't remember from who but it's out there, and it speaks of Gruden always studying x's and o's and at the time of the article, he was brushing up on the triple option. Dude just loves the game and is a "football nerd"

I totally agree. This is quite common in the coaching world anyways. If true, I do find the rumors interesting about him and Chad Morris though. The possibilities of that offense are limitless.

He had Chris Simms for awhile in Tampa Bay, so pretty much anybody else besides him would be gravy for Gruden.
