What time is Butch press conference today?

This is so classic of Tennessee fans and their dislike of CBJ press conferences. If he speaks in normal Butchisms, he gets blasted. If he strays from classic Butchisms, people look into the minutiae and make mountains out of molehills.

I like to watch then for the information 1st. Trying to figure out the outrage that is sure to come is secondary.

As usual, I couldn't figure out what it was going to be this time.

Playing 3 games in 13 days isn't all that infrequent and nobody likes it. SDSU had to do it a couple of years ago, and it was a bone of contention in rescheduling the LSU/FL game last year. LSU's beef was 3 SEC road games in 13 days, so our situation is more manageable. We should be able to rest our starters and give FR PT against Indiana St.

The sucky part is we get the cut blockers and the Gators OTR in those 13 days-- with a new QB and a new OC. Hopefully, Indiana St will be almost a bye week for the 1s and they'll be fresh for UF.

I was wrong about the team and having the bye...I even said I may be wrong. My point is that he's making a mountain out of a mole hill. Imo, coaches should teach players about overcoming adversity rather than *****ing about the schedule, that's all.

OMG - he wasn't *****ing about the schedule, he was discussing the challenges of preparation. Come ON Man.

This was 3 games in 16 days, but how about that Hawaii schedule to start last year? Now this was really some adversity:

Aug 26: vs. Cal in Sydney, Australia
Sep 3: at Michigan in Ann Arbor
Sep 10: vs. UT Martin in Honolulu, HI

19,000 miles in 16 days. From clicking around in Google Maps, they traveled approximately 46,600 miles last year.

Thanks Butchna..

That's just plain outright stupid! Every team every season does that! Every team practices, plays game, practices and plays game.

He's just setting up another excuse!

Maybe one word of truth in your statement. You are grasping at anything you can to troll the VOLs. Go back to Alabama.

Personally, I don't know why Butch should even have press conferences if every word that comes out of his mouth gets blown out of proportion so Butch haters can find something to b*tch about.

It's a damn press conference, why should you care and let it bother you so much just because you don't like hearing him speak? Just don't watch it, it's that easy.

Again, he implied that it'd be difficult to overcome playing 3 games within 13 days and that it'd never been done before. I believe teams do that quite often these days and I think we played on short rest back in 2008 when we played Cal on Labor Day. I could be mistaken on that though. I'm personally not buying in to that excuse when we play a cup cake like Indiana State during that time.

If you are going to bash the coach, at least do it with accurate data.

We play on 9/4, 9/9, and 9/16. Pretty much every other team plays 9/2, 9/9, 9/16. Does 2 days really make that much of a difference when your 2nd game is Indiana St?

Why does he keep bringing it up? It's so silly.

Because he had to contact his sources in the Canadian Football League to see how they cope with it. That's either a long distance or international call...either way it costs extra.

It's a damn comment on a message board, why should you care and let it bother you so much just because you don't like reading other people's posts? Just don't read it, it's that easy.

Just saying...

That answer is simple. He's setting up for his excuses for this year.

That's fair. I just wouldn't discuss it publicly at all.
On the other hand, I shouldn't evaluate what he says based on the way I would handle it.

Then the media needs to stop asking about it because he has been asked the question about that being a challenge several times during various media day sessions.

I guess is it okay for the media to harp on it and ask about it but NOT okay for a coach to mention it before they ask.

Good grief!! I seriously can't believe what some in this fan base complain about!

Somebody said the last time we did it was in 2005. Wait that was you. That could be the "rarity" he is thinking.

After our game on Minday instead of Saturday, if we treat the week as business as usual, we will be doing our walk thru the day after the game rather than the day before.

The LSU game in 2005 was moved from Saturday to Monday due to Hurricane Rita. It was not scheduled for Monday. Both teams agreed to move it.

The only time this occurs with "scheduled" games is typically around the Labor day weekend. NFL owns Monday so college games are traditionally not scheduled for Mondays.

It does not happen as often as some on here make it out to be

Because we read it every day over the dumbest BS.

Omg Butch said three quarters, does he not know there's 4 quarters in a game?

OMG Butch puts jelly on his eggs.
