What RB will start next year?

I think it will be a wide open postion, someone will have to step up and earn the postion. Me, I like Creer just because he has the lower body strength and speed. Kind of reminds me of a young Jamal Lewis.

Consider the fact that he should have been starting every game of the 2008 season, I'm going with Lennon Creer.

I haven't seen a recent pic of Creer, but if this statement is accurate about lower body strength you're probably correct. Especially if he has good vision and low center of gravity...perfect back for pro style offense.

Creer has good hands as well. Also very good in the open field. He runs like Chris Johnson of the Titans.

Mark it down, we're going to miss having Arian Foster next year. A lot of people here were anxious to see Ainge leave, and look a what has happened.

:eek:lol::lolabove:

I nominate this for funniest post of the year.....wait, were you serious?

Creer, Hardesty and Oku should all see PT. Toney Williams should see playing time as short yardage back aka Thunder.

The other running backs have proven nothing. In Arian's absence, the running game got even worse. I believe our rushing attack will be better next year, but it will be primarily because of the improved OL play.

The only way our offense improves at all will be through better OL play. Our running attack will be better without Foster. Foster was the best blocker but that can be taught. Foster also had the best vision but lacked the speed or decisiveness to do anything with that vision. I can't count how many times I saw Foster get tackled after 1 yard when Hardesty or Creer could have gotten 4 or 5 yards. He was a liability more than an asset this year.

Creer will be the Reggie Bush and Hardesty the LenDale White. These are loose comparisons, of course. But it'll be a split-carry situation.

I totally agree! I say out them both back there. Great combo. I feel sorry for hardesty with all the injuries. He was so much better that arian.

I find it interesting that many guys that were hard on Foster for fumbling want Creer to the be the starter. Creer has far more fumbles per carry than Foster and has shown this is a real issue for him. He may be faster and more exciting -- but he won't see the field if he keeps fumbling.

Foster will be missed. He was hugely underrated by the fans -- much like Ainge.

I always liked Ainge. I don't think Foster was a liability due to fumbles. He did have some unfortunate turnovers in key situations but he is not as fumble-prone as people make out.

Foster disappointed me with his running. In the open field, he would always be too worried about somebody tackling him from behind. There have been so many plays where he could have scored a TD or gotten extra yards if he would just put his head down and run. I also don't like the way he danced through the hole. He has great vision but he thinks too much and doesn't rely on instinct and explosiveness. Foster will never be a NFL starter because by the time he makes his decision on which way to cut, defenders will have wrapped him up in the backfield. He is the classic example of being good at everything and great at nothing.

I'm really curious to see if Arian runs the 40 at the combine or at his Pro Day. I really doubt he will because it will further illustrate that he doesn't have NFL speed. I really can't see him running under 4.55 and possibly slower. He isn't even as fast as the LB's and a lot of the DE's he'll be playing against.

There were plenty of 7 yard gains Foster had that would have been no-gainers with Hardesty.

Its all coming down to OL. If kiffin gets them to block and stay on one side of the field instead of moving them around every play like clawson the line has the potential to be great.

I agree about him dancing, and not hitting the hole. I've always thought Hardesty hit the hole so much faster and harder than Arian. It seemed as if he could hit it faster, he would break a few.

The starting RB will be a moot point if the o-line isn't rehabilitated into something worthwhile.

Why is no one mentioning Poole?...I think it will go 1. Hardesty, 2. Creer, 3. Poole

Backs will again rotate. Expect to see familiar faces plus Toney Williams, Oku, and either Giles or Dominique Allen.

If he proves more reliable carrying the ball, I just don't see how anyone but Creer would be the starting tailback next season. He's probably has more potential as an all-around running back than anyone we've had since the Lewis, Stephens, Henry trio. He's got the size, speed, power, vision, and the burst to be something really special next year.

He just needs to be consistent holding onto the ball.

Now how can you say that kpt? You know good and well you can't say what Hardesty would or wouldn't have done in those situations. Still got your man crush on Arian I see. I agree with you about Creer next year, he's an exciting runner.
