What other message boards are saying (Pitt Edition)

My favs are that we rarely play a P5 team away from home and of Pitt can control TOP they will avoid a huge blowout.

We play several P5 teams away from home every year and most are tougher than going to Pitt. I figure he meant out of conference but even there we have a track record of playing home and home against P5 teams.

I guarantee Pitt will easily win the TOP battle and I also guarantee it will mean nothing to the outcome of the game. That last poster clearly doesn’t know squat about us.

How's a team that ran for like 70-some yards while getting shredded by a 5-win max team going to make anything physical?

I hope that's their gameplan because then they'll be gassed by halftime.
I didn't say they could execute it... It's just the most likely way they can win.

The hole? The score was 14-13 Pitt when Milton got hurt and 17-13 when Hooker came in. That's not exactly insurmountable.

Ya, but there's the opportunity costs as well. If we'd hit a couple open receivers then we would have had double the points at that time.

-Good that the Panthers are underdogs - I think they were reading too much of their press clippings prior to The Brawl - they'll come out more prepared just by virtue of playing a tough rivalry opponent. I'm not real comfortable with Cignetti's offense - trying to obtain balance for the sake of balance is akin to using a rotary phone.

"...balance for the sake of balance is akin to using a rotary phone." LOL post of the day right there!

Or if Banks doesn't get an unnecessary roughness, or Tillman doesn't goof and get an offensive pass interference, or the block in the back wiping off Pitt's missed field goal that was returned for a TD, or numerous other things by other players. Fascinating that every one fixates on Milton, but completely ignore the others' bad play.

Whoa... sorry there chief. Wasn't trying to piss you off. Just trying to have a conversation. Hope your day gets better.

Hey I cant believe Hooker improved so much las year after all those overthrows......

If UT's defense shows up then Pitt doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell of winning. If they show up soft like the did against Ball State then it may be a game. I know that Ball state didn't put up many points. The D just looked soft. I think UT will win either way.

I can't lose or win with that one. I hate UF more than anyone else. But UK fans are getting pretty full of themselves. So I will take no joy in the winner... but can take joy in the loser.

I guess since UK's schedule is so lame comparatively, it would help UT more if UF wins... so long as UT beats both.
Yep. I've battled this in my mind the last few days. It would be better for us if we're both undefeated and ranked on the 24th. But it sure would be nice to have them lose to Kentucky..again. LOL. Then us beat them both.

All comes down to as long as we win I really don't care what they do or don't do.

Hey wasn't it Milton that played in the first half against Pitt last year with all the overthrows? (figured everyone else is doing it so I had to do it too)

Pitts D is good but is it Alabama or Georgia good, no? Their D would be middle of the pack in the SEC at best. My opinion but I think our receivers will have a field day against their back end, if our O line can give Hooker time. Pitt will be a good measuring stick for our defense, Ball State was not. I don't know for sure but I don't think you can look at how we played Ball State on defense and try to determine if we will be better or not. They didn't do much other than fill gaps in the front and played soft coverage the majority of the game, i saw a lot of zone too. We will not play this style of defense against Pitt, will be more man coverage hopefully our DBs will hold up. Front seven has to generate pressure for DBs to be successful. I believe the defense plays a lot more aggressively in this one than last Thursday.

Florida needs to win that game. I want UK out of sight, out of mind. I want to beat UGA, UF, and Bama when they are good.

I’d much rather ky to scull drag the gators. The gators starting off with a top 10 win and an sec top 20 win in their brand new coaches first 2 games only helps gator momentum. Ky will always be ky, we don’t want the gators to have that much success that quickly
Agreed, I’d much rather Kentucky beat the gators and stop their momentum before it gets going, on the other hand I wouldn’t care if Kentucky was ranked number 1 in the country, give me the vols over uk no matter the ranking of either teams.

We played against Hooker twice while he was at VT, so Pitt fans are very familiar with who he is. I was glad when he left VT because you could see there was really good upside there, that wasn't realized at VT. Just our luck at he ends up at TENN. He's a fine a enough passer, but really drives me nuts when he runs, just so tough to tackle, reminds me of Dante Culpepper.
