The generally held belief is that there were at least 2 blocks in the back on Johnny Rodgers' punt return for TD. If one of those gets called, who knows what would have happened. (45 yard line and 35 yard line).

Oops...correct on the '72 game and score. '72 is when we were upset in the Flatirons by the Buffs. In 1971 Neb , OU, and Colo. finished 1/2/3 in the polls. The Big 8 in the 70'and 80's was stout.

Last year OU was one of the worst Pass defense teams in the country. I'm surprised that is not being stressed more going into this game.

JMO, but I think UT knows this and will test your secondary. My gut tells me Preston Williams makes a grand entrance this year on a big stage by going for 100+ and a TD. Good luck this weekend.

I can remember my mother crying when it was announced on the radio (yes, radio) that Steve Owens had won the Heisman in '69. I admire, and so do many other OU fans, the traditions, pagentry and the hoopla that surround UT football games. I cringe at times when I read some of the assinine statements that come out of the mouth of many OU fans. But alas, it is what it is. So far, we have been able to meet home/home in womens B-Ball, now football and hopefully in the future can schedule some other sports between UT and OU. Here's to some ass-kicking on both sides, nobody gets hurt other than the ususal stuff that goes with hard fought games and to a great season for both.

I remember being excited as a kid when this game would come on TV. Hate where the money has killed tradition and games like the OU and UT game we get to watch Saturday are becoming fewer and far between with playoffs ect. It is sad to see it.

I got to meet Johnny Rogers in New York this year. He is a great guy and had us all laughing in the elevator introducing himself as Archie Griffin. Great memory.

Man, I loved those Switzer teams of the 70's, that was the Golden era of running the football. It was amazing to see OU run for 600+ yds against the likes of Iowa St, and the other doormats of the Big Eight. I lived OKC in '84 and got to see Marcus Dupree, thing of beauty to see him run off-tackle for 80 yards.

Nearly 50/50....since Dobbs took over last year vs Alabama, 48% of our total yards have come through the air and the game last week skewed the numbers a bit. Prior to the BGSU game, it was 51% to 49% in favor of the passing game.

It has been a great build up to tomorrow's game. Looking forward to watching it from the comfort of my home. For a good objective (from a Sooners pov), go to the football braniacs for a discussion on the game. Good luck Vols, it has been a great series.
