What Other Message Boards Are Saying: Mizzou Edition

That's kinda what I thought. I'm not Mr politically correct or anything, but that seemed to be fairly intentional.

Maybe they think that if they piss him off he will lose his usual cool demeanor and have a bad game. Hope he lights em up.

Respect as a football program? They are about as experienced in the SEC as they are with creating message boards.

Thanks for continuing to do this. Great read every week. I'm not sure why we would be favored, but if we win who cares.

Go Vols

I was reading an ESPN article on SEC football this morning and noticed a lot of Mizzou fans in the comment section that appears to be Facebook linked. What really stood out to me was the constant reference to Dobbs as "boy". Interesting choice of terminology. I hope he has a great game against them.

Which article?

I think, after looking at that board, we should all that Freak for what he has created here.

Dear Lord I don't even think I would follow the Vols on the internet if that was the best thing out there.

Thanks Freak!

Their fans feel arrogant to me. They are completely disrespecting UT.

Missouri as a football program is very similar to North Korea as a country.

They are greatly under estimating Dobbs.

We need to unleash the Kraken on them. This is a night game at Neyland', this will not even be comparable to their last trip here in 2012 when support was all but gone for Dooley. This is the toughest SEC venue to play in, and most any objective person will tell you that.

The OP apparently never found where most Tiger fans post.

The Scout board is effectively shutdown because the proprietor only wants paying customers to post and deletes or edits anything on the free boards about recruiting and controversy.

The Rivals board is for paying customers only to post.

SECrant has a Tiger presents, but it's fairly new.

Almost all Tiger fan forum postings are on Tigerboard.com

If I'm a Mizzou fan, I don't care if our record is 8-2. Losing at home to Indiana and 34-0 to UGA would not give me confidence in any game.

First of all, the Indiana game was played like TCU played Kansas. Since then, Indiana has been decimated by injuries, including their QB.

In both the Indiana and Georgia games, Mauk showed no patience in moving the chains, always opting for trying for larger chunks. That created far more 3rd and 10s to keep drives alive.

Since then, the emphasis has been to get Mauk to move the chains. Take his shots, but move the chains. Each game has gotten better. The A&M game was what we've all been waiting for.

Both games are the only games we didn't have a turnover.

The majority of what I found was from Tigerboard. Including the screenshot from Tigerboard I posted in the OP. I'm not sure how you overlooked that.

Also because UTs offense is better, Dobbs can afford a mistake or 2 MORE than Mauk IMO. Mauk is the key to their success and he is going up against a D that, if nothing else, has caused 12 INTs vs 11 passing TDs allowed and also recovered 7 fumbles in these 10.

Think of it this way, if both teams turn it over twice, who do you think capitalizes on it, a decent offense vs a good defense or a horrible offense vs a decent defense?

The one issue with this statement is our red zone D is bad their scoring D is great. If we turn it over on our side of the field expect them to capitolize. It's how they win football games and IMO Dobbs more than anything in what may be a lower scoring affair just needs to protect the football.

Pinkel is a good coach -- considering how hard it is to recruit in that part of the country. He's able to mold lower star rated players into a team that can hold it's own in the SEC. They will have a greater motivator in getting to ATL vs. a bowl game for us, which we pretty much have in the bag now. It's just hard to guage what shuffling players around in our secondary will do to our defense and the added loss of AJ's motivating presence. The whole situation is just sad for him and everyone involved. I'm looking for Barnett and Magitt to really step up and have a monster game.

I thought his last comment was referring to where you pulled the comments from and he never actually mentioned where most of the Tigger fans post...maybe I am wrong though. :birgits_giggle:

Yeah they had good success against TAMU who were worn out by 3Q running the ball. I would look for CBJ to load the box, try to take away the run game and make Mauk throw more.

I have no doubt you've gotten better since the Georgia game, I mean you can only go uphill from a shutout, but you still scored 20 points on KY two games later. You're the only SEC team that hasn't scored at least 40 on them with the exception of Vandy and a terrible UF offense that scored 36.

Thanks for info, I looked on my own just to see what their thoughts were and I got overly frustrated at terribleness of how their board is built. Seriously it needs a rethink.

I think the loss of AJ is huge but not something that will break the team. The overall chemistry of this team is something we haven't seen in a long time. They play for each other and the fans. If this was a Dooley led team, it's an automatic loss. Butch will have these guys ready and to the Mizzu fans thinking we haven't seen a defense as good as theirs, bro do you even internet? Our schedule is chocked full of defenses of better or the same as their caliber

Not that we did much, but we have faced Ole Miss. I'll take their defense over Mizzou's especially given the divison their in compared to us and Mizzou.

From what I saw, you guys are great on the d-line but the depth's not necessarily there.

One of your starters - I think it was Golden? - was out hurt in the Indiana game and the Hoosiers seemed focused to run it towards the side of his replacement. Their RB actually has the second most total rushing yards in FBS (1678 through 10 games).

My sister's at IU. You are correct, though, in that they have been hit by injuries. They lost their starting and backup QBs to injury in the Iowa game...that said they maybe should have only won 2 to at most 3 more games.

It seems the emphasis has now shifted away from that previous always no huddle to a slower, more running based offense (mainly not leaving it entirely...or mostly on Mauk's back/responsibility). His completion rate is still low, and the UGA game seemed to emphasize that his playing like that in that former quick, passing offense was a lot more...risked (especially in regards to shorter drives where if the offense would be on the field for a 3 and out, the drive would essentially last less than a minute, making their defense's time on the field quite higher in a lower scoring game).
