Please contact the NCAA and provide photographic and video evidence of the wrong doing. I would LMAO if all of Saban's titles and wins were voided! The Tide boosters are still mad about what happened 16 years ago. Despite the fact that they were guilty. They see nothing wrong with money under the table. I worked for one of their biggest boosters for 4 years. We had players on our payroll that drew pay checks every week. They were supposed to be sales people. We never saw them. They never sold a thing. That kind of crap is still going on today. It is a way of life down there. They are mad a Fulmer because he told the truth. Like I said they see nothing wrong with what happened. In their eyes Fulmer should have just kept his mouth shut. SMH I would bet everything I own the Tide's payroll is higher than some NFL teams.
You really think there were those who believed he would be? LOL. You think Bama replaces the GOAT with someone like Pruitt? When Saban retires, Bama will have their pick of whatever HC they want. They will get a bonafide, big time winning HC. I would be willing to bet almost any HC worth their salt in CF would give up their job immediately to coach at Bama.
I'm curious what Bama "fans" think our recruiting issues that cannot be overcome are? Large stadium, brand recognition, monetary resources, close proximity to fertile recruiting grounds. They're a different kind of dumb in Alabama.
Technically he was the second (Mullen was #1), but you're right. Currie did not conduct an actual coaching search. He went after Mullen, and when that fell through he went right to Schiano.Schiano isnt an awful coach. If he was our 5th or 6th choice (like CJP), there wouldnt have been such an outrage. The fact that he was the 1st choice and cheap, that's what caused Schiano Sunday.
The State of Alabama is not exactly what I'd call "primo" recruiting territory, but it is better than Tennessee, even though Alabama has to share their state with Auburn. Tennessee is a pretty unique state to recruit because West Tennessee, where a lot of the state's talent is, has always been able to be poached to a certain extent. Tennessee has had more success keeping Middle Tennessee talent, but unfortunately there isn't just much talent in East Tennessee, closest to the school.I'm curious what Bama "fans" think our recruiting issues that cannot be overcome are? I agree with your statement, but I took the Bama fan’s comment as saying “it cannot be done at UT”. We have facilities, money, decent instate recruiting and close proximity to Atlanta and other hotbeds. On top of that, winning cures all recruiting woes. That’s why Alabama has their pick of the litter and sustained the success they’ve had since Saban’s arrival. The State of Alabama is not exactly what I'd call "primo" recruiting territory, but it is better than Tennessee, even though Alabama has to share their state with Auburn. Alabama's biggest asset at this point is simply having the track record of success they have. If there were a couple top recruits on Mars, they could sign them. It really doesn't matter for them where the talent is located anymore.
Sounds like you need another team to root for so you are disappointed to the day you die.Serious question:
Why should they?
When the fans controlled the outcome of a coaching search we cant get it right.
When we dont care what the fat cats do the fans get Dooley or Butch
When we recruit well the most important position QB never pans out (with the exception of Dobbs)
We havent beaten anyone of value in many years. I dont count the always over rated big ten teams
Maybe 1 day before I die Tennessee will get it right. Im 33
If the Bama fan is saying it (signing blue chips) can’t be done at UT he is wrong. Winning is what sets those schools apart from UT in recruiting. We need to win a few we’re not supposed to and be competitive in games we’re out manned. We have everything else in place. This is the first time in my life time Clemson has a seat at the National Championship Contender table. They had to start winning and the big time players followed.Large stadium - no different than our rivals
Brand recognition - Not so much the last 20 years
Monetary resources - maybe, I don't know. I seriously doubt that is a separator from our rivals
Poximity to recruiting grounds - Only so much to go around with Ohio State, Clemson, UGA, and Bama within 600 miles of us. All of which have a "network of resources" that for whatever reason we can't keep up with.
I don't want to be a debbie downer, but that is the simple truth of the matter. The bama fan that said that isn't wrong.
Yep. I lived in Greenville for over 10yrs. I went to one of their games back in 2004. I remember when they sucked and lost to USCjr every year.If the Bama fan is saying it (signing blue chips) can’t be done at UT he is wrong.
