Thanks for posting all these memories guys. After the last decade, particularly the last two seasons, wasn’t sure I had any good memories I could recall. 1985 Auburn game has to be mine.

I have two favorites I saw at Neyland.
Obviously the 82 Bama game many of you mentioned.

Also Clemson 1974, one of my all time great memories. Two point conversion from Holloway to Seivers.

There is no sound but go to 39:30 for that play.

Man that was good film.

At the vol walk with my dad brothers and two late uncles who both passed in their late 40s early 50s. I was 9 or 10 either 1998 or 1999 season and couldn’t see through the crowd. My 6’2 uncle picked me up and put me on his shoulders and I suddenly had the best seat in the house. May have been the game my dad threw up the number 1 to Fulmer as he walked by and Fulmer saw and returned it ☝️. Can’t remember the game or outcome but I will always remember that.
Favorite game has to be James Wilhoit against Florida, the dobbnail boot, or rick clausen beating LSU.

First ever night game at Neyland: 1972 vs Penn State... My Dad gave two tickets to one of his workers, who said at halftime 'if UT wins, I'll name my first born Big Orange'. A comeback 28-21 win and a few years later, he named his son BO. Now THAT's being committed to the Vols.

My Christmas present my senior year in high school was a trip to the Cotton Bowl vs. A&M. I remember getting out of the car when we got to the game and a drunk Aggie yelling “long way from home boys!” at us. Then we saw a 38-7 Big Orange beatdown that really should have been a shutout. Great trip.

Another one was this season actually. I’m the associate youth pastor at our church, and our head youth pastor is a STH. We took two of our boys from the youth group to the ETSU game. Neither one of them had ever been to a major sporting event before, and we made a day of it. Watching their faces at the Salute to the Hill was worth the whole trip.

1968 Orange Bowl against Oklahoma. Tennessee rallied from a 19-0 deficit only to lose 26-24 as Karl Kemser's last second FG went wide. I was hooked on Tennessee football for ever more! G B O

Taking my son to his first game. As we turned the corner to make our way to the stadium he said, “Man! I imagine this is what heaven will look like. There’s so much orange!”

Attending my first ever Tennessee football game. Just moved to Knoxville, born in the northeast where college football was not that important. My brother was a head resident at hess hall. Dad parked behind hess hall probably about 3 hours before kickoff. Hung out with brother and his friends for a while. Coming out behind hess and seeing all that orange gave me goosebumps. Walking to the stadium the excitement grew at every step. Had a blast beat Colorado State 42-0.

Going to the games with my Grandfather. Sitting there listening him talk about the General, Wyatt, Dickey's teams. Explaining the game to me.

Going to Weavers Cafeteria to eat before the game. Listening to him and his friend argue as bout Coach Battle. Sitting in the sun, hearing the cry of 'Cokes, cokes here', 'Programs, get your program', 'Hot dogs, Peanuts'. Hearing the announcer say 'Please pay these prices, and pay no more'.

God I miss that man. Going to go cry now.

As a lifelong Steeler fan, growing up in the shadow of Texas Tech...I didn't become a college football fan until 2002, when I moved the Knoxville. As a graduate from UT, my heart will always be Orange and White....but it's been a rough 15 years. I've had to youtube the National Championship game from 98 and the 85 Sugar Vols.

However, on my birthday, September 2nd, 2006, Robert Meachem and the boys flat out pounded #9 Cal in Neyland Stadium. I remember watching an interview prior to the game with the HC of California saying "we know we are walking into a buzz saw"
.....no truer words have ever been spoken!

Great night!

When I was a Sr. in HS, me and 4 of my friends made the haul from Nashville to go see a game. Fuad Reveiz kicked a FG at the last second to beat GT 9-6. We were sitting in some bleachers in the NW corner down on the field. Crazy.

We all hung out for a few hours after the game, and we all snuck back on the the field and played a "game" with one of those mini balls the cheerleaders throw out. We must have stayed on the field under the lights or 15-20 minutes and no one ever told us to leave. Back in the day when the field was turf. What a memory.

Winning the national championship in 98, but the best thing even when we suck which is more often than not here lately but it’s great seeing them run through the power t

I was in Athens at my brothers house watching the game surrounded by UGA fans. When Jennings caught the pass my 55 year old dad jumped in my arms like a small child.

Thumping, then number one ranked Auburn, and watching Bo Jackson get an early exit in '85
Coming back to beat Notre Dame '91
Jeff Hall's winning field goal at Syracuse and Clint Stoerner's fumble at Arkansas in '98
Peerless Price catching that long side-line pass.

And many others.

The 86 Sugar Bowl, when Powell broke the 60 yard run and Bennie Blades was trying to run him down Frank said to Keith Jackson Blades has world class speed and Powell ran of and left him Keith asked Frank what do you call that, that run sealed the deal and the VOLS was back in the spot light of college football. VOLS 35 Miami 7 coming into the game the talk was all Miami had to do was beat us and win the NC nobody gave us a chance and we stomped them from the opening kick of.

1998, the entire season was memorable with drama, confidence swings, luck and a great climax against Florida State.

86 Sugar Bowl beat down of Miami would probably be next.

Damn, you read my mind!

The only other game that immediately jumps out is the 98 Florida game. One bad-ass defense and the missed field goal. I don't remember when or how I got home.
