It is very tough to get Memphis players to go to UT. If he is any good,we need to try aand ment fences in not only Memphis Tenn but all of West Tenn. We do play football in West Tenn. Don't get me wrong if we can replace him with a much better player , the coaches know best.
As a gradiate of Southern Miss, I know there's quite the pipeline of Alabama scraps that came our way over the years. I also know that there's some fences that still need mending in West Tennessee. As I figured, this wasn't a push-out but a push-back.
Even if Moore commits (which I'm hearing is still possible), I think the staff want Thomas on the team, and that's why they went over there with the cavalry. A guarantee of a shot at starting and a plan to get him on the field can smooth this over.

Its not like we are either deep or talented in the secondary.
The way I would do it if I were an SEC head coach would be to have at least 12-13 Div. 1 players on the roster in fall camp. Right now I'm thinking TN has about 6. If Moore is somehow swayed, he'll be one of the corners with Lanier being the other. That'll leave time for players to develop, shirts to be redded, and guesses to be seconded.

People need to stop forgetting about Teague, Gordon, and Waggner.
Teauge got to practice at corner for 2-3 months before being thrown in the lion's den, and he did an admirable job. He is one of our best athletes and gets to learn the position for another offseason after playing a full year. Also, Gordon is a very physical and athletic corner. He was a Redshirt Fr., of course he is going to struggle. And then you have Prentiss who did a great job going against Alshon and pretty much shutting him down. Prentiss came in and looked great at corner IMO.
