People who talk about dieting 9 times out of 10 are fat azzes who need to hit a gym.

Hit a gym 6 days a week for an hour and you no longer will need to worry about your diet. Your body will handle it for you.

i have a 4 yr old from thurs to sunday. most people cant go to the gym every day and diet is important, maybe even more so, if you are doing that much training..

How old are you? I'm 40 and have been @ 6 ft 185 since I was 16. Maintaining the last 3-4 years has been brutal, regardless of gym time. Skin tightness is different, recovery is different and metabolism is different. It happens.

RPM is very good. Radical Perfomance maximizer.

Hydroxycut is a waste. Ephedrine worked very well before it was pulled and was pulled because people were not using it properly.

I would add supplements aren't good unless you know what you're doing. You can mess your metabolism up really bad.

If you want to lose weight, save your money on supplements or diet pills and buy a work out dvd called Insanity.

Ephedrine still works, but you're correct in stating that people weren't using it properly. The same people that screwed around with ephedrine are the same ones who take handfuls* of Advil because they still have a slight headache an hour after taking the first (excessive) dosage, or who stop taking antibiotics after two days because they feel better.

*The original post didn't say "handfuls", it referred to full fists. Apparently even as part of a legitimate word, the middle four letters of "fist fuls" (one word) gets ****'d out.

I've been using a pre-workout supplement called Jack3d. It's alright. It won't make you feel as wired as hydroxycut or noxplode, but it does help with stamina and energy during your workout. Where it really helps is gutting out those last reps and finishing off those last few minutes or miles of cardio. I've dropped from about 198 to 183 in the last month or so I've been using it but i'd also say i've gained a pound or two in muscle. They sell it at GNC but it is still a slightly sketchy product. I never use it more than 4 times a week and I use about half the recommended dosage. All in all, it's an OK product. Probably not worth it if you can't get to the gym 6 days a week.

*I've also been on a vegetarian diet so that could attribute to some of the weight loss as well.

I eat 1600-1800 calories a day...I measure all foods that I eat been doing this since Janurary first. I have lost 30 pounds. I didn't start working out until I started training for the marathon and I haven't really lost any weight since then.

about 600 calories of my day come from apple jacks...that way I can "graze" all day long and keep my metabolism upinstead of eating a few set meals.

until recently I was losing a little over 2 lbs a week. I start charting my weight loss about half way through.

I work with a few people who have been using these HGC drops. Every single one of them have dropped at least 30 lbs in a little over a month. They seem to rave about these drops.

Half a scoop? I don't feel anything from one.

Nobody really needs to hit the gym 6 days a week.

They recommend the safe dosage is 2-3 scoops. I've never used more than 1 and a half. There's varying levels of intensity for going to the gym. You don't have to lift every time you go to the gym and you shouldn't. 2 of my 6 days are usually just cardio or even yoga sometimes.

Has your body not built up a tolerance just using 1.5? Within the first week, one scoop did nothing for me. Two scoops didn't last long either.

I will add this personal testimonial. I tried the "small meals every 3 hours to keep your metabolism going" and gained 7 pounds. I was taking in about 1800 cals a day, all healthy foods and snacks like protein bars. So just because you cut a lot of cals doesn't always equal weight loss. I believe, in my slightly qualified opinion, that there is a point where you body goes into starvation mode and you will put on weight if you don't meet your body's basic metabolic needs.

I will add a small note in saying that if you hit cardio hardcore and limit your cal intake significantly, you will still lose weight because the cardio negates the body's natural response. If you are strictly dieting, you need a certain amount of cals to meet your body's needs.

You will lose weight, your right. The thing is, not only will you lose fat, but you're going to lose muscle along with it. Muscle, when being exercised, burns more fat than cardio alone.

Every time I see you post that it makes me sick to my stomach. 72g of sugar per day from Apple Jacks. So you basically get 1/2 of your carbs from 1/3 of your diet, and half of those carbs are from sugar.

I know you're losing weight and I am by no means a nutritionist but that hardly seems like it could be "good" weight loss.

Mind if I ask what the other 2/3 of your diet looks like?

I will admit that the apple jacks are not the best thing for me. That is kinda my "treat" I guess. Though it is good to find something that you can eat and snack on that is low fat throughout the day.

The last hundred or so of my calories are usually 2 Turkey burgers 400 calories...lot of protein (no bread) though sometimes I will treat myself with bread. If I do I use nature owns 35 calorie bread.

I mix it up on my fruits and vegetables. I weigh everything, but change it up between orange, bananas, strawberries, pineapples, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and salads.

Usually will eat at least 1 protein bar in a day.

You'd be better off with something like a few scoops of Natty PB or Almonds than the Apple Jacks. Both high in fat. JMO IMO tho.

Well the rest of it doesn't sound so bad. However, between the Apple Jacks, fruit and >= 1 protein bar, you've got to be taking in at least 120g of sugar a day. I understand the ease of just measuring out 6 cups of Apple Jacks and being good for the day. I wouldn't be too worried about a low fat snack though. You need some good fats and it doesn't sound like you're taking in much fat in the rest of your diet, if any.
