What if

Where are you seeing this? I don't see it anywhere and 247 is still showing him as a hard commit. Link please.

I read rumors last night that he might decommit. I haven't seen anywhere that it is verified.

Sorry to poop on your thread but none of VN posters that hate Pruitt will change their mind even if we blow out TAMU and Vandy. Lots of them made up their mind before the season started.
Are they wrong?

I'll admit that I've hated Pruitt since he stayed at Bama for the playoffs after he was hired. But there is no one who wanted him to be a home run more than me, he's not even a sacrifice bunt and never will be anything other than a middling DC. Time for the Gump to go.

A lot of hypotheticals.....

I've seen enough of Pruitt to know what we have. And you know when things start going sideways little stories start trickling out you wouldn't hear otherwise. How about this one? Thanksgiving day Pruitt kept all of his coaches at work until something like 7:30 that evening to make sure their Thanksgiving day was ruined because he was mad at them. Sounds like a great leader to me. Blame others, lash out, etc. He fired Jimmy Brumbaugh in front of other coaches AND players. You don't do those kinds of things on the college level. You might get away with some of that Mickey Mouse BS on the high school level but this ain't high school anymore.

Pruitt is always talking about moving fohhhhhhhrwaaaaaaard. He can move forward by leaving town and letting the University of Tennessee actually make a competent head coaching hire.

This is false. And dumb. Tennessee couldn't blow out any team.

I really don’t like comments like this. It’s like you are trying to discount the fire Pruitt crowd as a bunch of ignorant bandwagon fanatics who for whatever reason hated the guy from the start. It simply isn’t true at all.

I was pro Pruitt to start the year and thought we had a chance to take a big step forward in 2020. Then the season happened. And I WATCHED. The team management is horrendous. We have taken a big step back from last year and at times honestly look like a Highschool team trying to play in the SEC.

A couple assistants are fired, we beat vandy and are competitive against tamu, we somehow end up with a top 15 class for 2021, and next year with Bailey as the starter we go 8-3 reg season with losses to bama, Uf, and uga, and sign a top 10 class.

Still fire Pruitt? Still hate him?

Just curious.
No disrespect intended, but I’m kinda tired of dealing in what if’s. And I’m done with the whole “wait till next year” thing.
GBO!!

I’ll ask again: who of any substance is going to come coach for a seemingly lame duck coach and magically turn around a team that is getting worse, not better. And this has occurred with two highly respected coordinators, so these new coaches might ask themselves, why is that?
Bobo...
I guess when things get really desperate, you can always bring in your lame duck buddies to “right the ship.”
gbo...I guess.

Yup, because the fact it took a whole season to find a QB shows how inept he is as a coach. Also, losses on the recruiting trail this last week will likely drop us out of 15. Early signing is next week. Last couple of years recruits rarely held out for the later signing period. What we are next week will give us a better indication of where we will finish.

CORRECT.

Year 1:
5-7 record 2-6 SEC Trending the right way with wins against (21 Auburn) & (12 Kentucky)

Year 2:
8-5 record 5-3 SEC Could of been a 10 win season if not for what happened below.
1. Ga State (Got dominated)
2. BYU (Good team, should have easily won the game.)

Year 3:
3-7 Most likely record
3. Kentucky at HOME 34-7
4. Blown out by 20+ by rivals.
5. Set consecutive loosing streak

I thought we were trending the right way in 2018-2019, with the exception of the key losses listed. This year, I lost all hope in the coaching staff with their mismanagement.
Your last statement is where I differ from some on this board. I too thought we were trending the right way after closing the 2019 season with a winning streak. Recruiting was going well. There was excitement that was building. There was buzz around the program heading into this year. But then Covid hit. And yes I know everyone is dealing with it. But I’m not going to fully judge him on this year when it sure looked like we were going in the right direction. Who’s to say that if it has been a regular year that trend would have continued or at the very worst stayed the same? Maybe the staff came up with a terrible plan on how to handle the spring summer and fall this year? Coach Pruitt has plenty of issues you can’t point to that don’t look good (namely the QB situation) but I’m willing to give him another regular year to see if he picks up where it left off in 2019. Don’t get me wrong tho, he will have to get it done next year or I’ll be putting the Uhaul in his front yard.

What "if" Dooley has a good recruiting class and finishes in the Top 20... do you still fire him? Oh wait, Dooley was escorted out of town a few years ago. What was the question again?
