What happened today

Sorry guys I was at my wedding getting married so could someone give me a spark note version of the game against UTEP today?
We won, shut them out, allowed 134 total yards but we still suck and the team quit on Pruitt and we need to fire everybody. I think that's a good recap of what people said on here today.

I was running errands but I did catch a crazy stat. We were outgaining the Miners 300 yards to 50 yet only up 10-0. What's going on there?

Red zone issues. I believe it was a penalty the first TD that caused a FG instead, then a turnover on the goal line also. Otherwise that 10 would’ve been 21.

NEWSPAPER REPORT: we won 24 to 0. First shutout in 3 yrs. They had 134 yds TOTAL offense. They crossed the 50 yard line 2 times. Offense inside of 20 yd line 2 other times.
VOLNATION REPORT: we lost 62 to 0. Haven't even seen the end zone with a pair of binoculars. our 10 possessions 5 fumbles and 5 ints 22 penalties for 212 yards left us 1 total yard offense. 9 straight losses this year to go with the 12 next year TN is starting 21 game losing streak.
This is written in fun but sometimes that's what it sounds like on here.

I'll give a shot at an honest take OP
We won 24-0
We played sluggish and unispired but the game was never in doubt.

We shot ourselves in the foot several times. Mostly unexcusable penalties but given we had so few last week, I'm not ready to call it a trend.

Banks fumbled the ball on the goal line, trying to reach across while being tackled. But the staff was rotating every back trying to get them all prepared, so each one tried to shine with their opportunities. Maybe tried too hard.

Also rotated QB's trying to get KC prepared in case of a JG injury. This definitely prevented any rhythm and most likely cost us some points. But, once again, the game was never in doubt so it was used as a glorified practice.

Tldr; both lines still looked bad enough to have real concern and that's justified. But given the reasons listed above, we're probably not as bad as other threads are making us out to be.

Welp...put it this way...

You got married yesterday...and statistics say that over HALF of marriages FAIL and end in DIVORCE. So...therefore...YOU have a better statistical chance of a successful marriage...than PRUITT and the VOLS could EVER dream of...of being successful!

But then again...your new wife DID set your wedding date on a Fall GAMEDAY!!!

So...there’s THAT...

This place beats all I have ever seen and I have seen a lot of stupid chit in my life. The team has improved every game. CP is still trying to put the best OL together he can, with what he has.
The OL played better. JG is much improved over last year. We do have a passing threat. We have several good running backs. The Defense put some pressure on the QB, which is an improvement. They kept a mobile QB contained for the most part. The CB's made some good plays on deep balls. We shut them out and still have much room for improvement and we will improve. If we beat the Tide and shut them out, some fool would come on here and have something to complain about. If you can play any better, enroll in school and walk on, I am sure CP would love to have you and your talent on the team. SMH We are improving every game. If you can't see that you know NOTHING about football. GO VOLS!

This x 100 ... the mouth breathers on here are insufferable. JG has a 158 passer rating and we have threads on here wanting him replaced. Wow 😮 I know it’s only a small portion of Volnation that are this ignorant but sheesh the stupidity of this group is embarrassing

Tennessee beat the worst team in the history of CFB. The team quit on Pruitt halfway through warmups. Pruitt is #1 on the hot seat.

Florida dominated and imposed their will in a blowout win against the best team ever in CFB history.

Therefore, Tennessee will lose to Florida and finish the season 2-10.
