What does Tennessee hiring of Glazier mean?

There is absolutely nothing good that comes from that. If he is fired for “cause” (as a result of recruiting violations) we are looking at multiple repercussions, including bowl ban and scholarship reductions. If you want to fire him, just fire him. It’s going to cost more in the long run if you have to fire him “for cause”.

Right. In addition, if there’s enough evidence to fire him for cause, then there’s probably enough evidence for further sanctions. What coach worth anything would sign up for that great unknown to be hanging over the program?

Must mean that our compliance department is inadequate to find the goods. Funny thing is that Fulmer was not aware of compliance involvement when it started. Maybe, we are going big in this investigation. The problem is we are creating conditions that will make it much more difficult for the next coach, which will limit our field of prospects.
No it doesn’t mean they are “inadequate “, it means they are covering their ass with validation having a backup evaluation!

It means Fulmer is about to make a huge mess of the football program. Ya didn't think it could get worse just wait. Now UT is going to have a lame duck coach with NCAA investigation looming over his head. Just fire his azz. Get if over with. Guess it's all about the dough !

Your source is from 2008. I think you could be a little more up-to-date on the fella than that. Like maybe:

Mike Glazier: The man behind Missouri's appeal to the NCAA

It turns out Mike Glazier is not an assassin who specializes in getting coaches fired. He's a friend of universities who want to find ground truth. He's good at leading investigations where the goal is to get to the base facts.

Given that, our hiring him is good for Tennessee. Now some rabid Pruitt-haters are going to assume that is bad for Pruitt, but that's not necessarily so. It might actually be very helpful to Jeremy Pruitt.

In any case, getting to the truth is something we should be happy our university leadership is pursuing. By hiring this fella.
I wonder if AD Phillip Fulmer had a decision in hiring this guy? I love how most of our Sports programs are doing well, but several people are calling for Fulmer's head. Lol
Crazy season cracks me up.

Fulmer once met with a teenage rape victim (allegedly by one of his players) at Shoney's, so I'm guessing he didn't want Glazier sniffing around. He's the type to not want guys like that around.

Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see, JMO. Also, he kept Rick Barnes in town when UCLA was willing to pay him a small fortune to go there and coach.

Better to hire someone to investigate independently than do yourself. You dont want anything coming back that you failed to report in your own investigation. And if youre looking to fire Pruitt "With Cause" then its much easier if outsider can prove it instead of internal witch hunt. Thats my opinion.

If anyone thinks we would fire a coach for recruiting or other violations but then turn around and hire Freeze is not thinking realistically! Does that even sound logical lol
Yeah I have said the same. I would be happy to get Freeze as coach. However if you fire a coach over NCAA egregious allegations. You would get crucified if you in turn hire Freeze who has a list of NCAA run ins.

As a side note I have a friend who is a huge Ole Miss fan like sits courtside when he goes back home for basketball games. When he asked if Pruitt were fired where Vol fans would go. When I said the big hope is Freeze. He said I like him. When things are good they are really good. But when they are bad they are really bad.
