What does Fulmer do now?

becomes a legend. retires. chills in east tennessee. smokes cigars. learns to fiddle. and comes to a couple of games a year and signs autographs. the man loves tennessee football, and unfortunately we will not find a coach who loves tennessee football as much as this man does. maybe a better coach...but not someone who loves this university and the tradition as fulmer does.

and any coach who we hire who doesnt bring this guy in before big games to speak about the tradition of the game is an absolute moron.

agreed ....:good!:

Fulmer needs to wait a year or two for Mike Hamilton to be fired for this bonehead move and then take his job.

That's right Mr. Hamilton, you signed your own resignation today not Fulmer's. Only diff is you get to keep your job another year or two.

stubborn? this isn't something that hamilton just up and did. it was pretty obvious that 9 out of 10 UT fans were ready for a coaching change. Hamilton is safe. especially once the basketball season gets here and pearl brings the school great success.

Fulmer doesn't need to be anywhere near the Football program after this. It will only drag the program even further down having him second guessing everything that a new staff will do.

Fulmer just needs to go open up a chain of family style buffets and leave the football behind.

Hamilton Just screwed up UT football for the next 3-5 years... how?

It doesn't matter who is brought in as coach, ceo-style figurehead or to recruit. No one will ever be able to recruit at TN as well as Fulmer has with the exception of P. Manning. But by then, the program will be in such shambles that Manning probably won't even want to deal with the mess.

You tell me, what does the University of TN have to offer a 5 star recruit?

It is the university's fine acedemia? The remote mountain location?

So how are these AWESOME recruits doing once they get to Tennessee? Yeah - that's what I thought.

I'd take a bunch of scrubs and three star recruits with a competent coach and staff over Fulmer any day.

Right. If you bring Fulmer in before big games, Fulmer can speak to the team about the tradition that he instilled of LOSING big games.

Since Phil's such a great and inspirational person, perhaps he could open a halfway house to help rehabilitate his former players after they're released from prison.

Or perhaps he could go to Chapel Hill and do the same thing for the majority of Dean's boys?

It would be kind of interesting if he would go to Duke as Offensive Coordinator and offensive line coach for his buddy Cutcliffe. Will never happen though.

No, actually, you're laughable.

As is UNC's LENGTHY list of arrested players (basketball/football).

If you hadn't noticed, Dean Smith never coached football. As for your comment regarding UNC basketball players in prison, feel free to start naming your long list any time you're ready.

20 bucks says you've got a 'sheed' wal-mart jersey hanging in your closet.

He does speaking gigs for $25K+ a pop, writes a book about his time at UT, enjoys his new house in east TN, does a few things here and there for his alma mater and counts his money. A great life if you ask me.

Great. I'm not too proud to collect your twenty bucks. Rasheed Wallace is second rate trash, but he has yet to be arrested for trafficking cocaine or killing someone while driving under the influence.

I'm stilling waiting for that extensive list. So far, you've named one Carolina player who, to the best of my knowledge, has a long list of technical fouls as his worst transgression against society.
