You mean his infomercials right?

Yea, he is a hoot from what I hear. Visits the factories that make his gear in full costume, plays the part to the max.

Nice. Ever meet any rock stars or anything? I know Rivers Cuomo of Weezer is a Gibson guy.

Not really. I probably could if I wanted, it is routine for big stars to take a tour of the factory if they happen to be in Nashville. But working there, it is just a job so you don't really get into that much unless it is your job to give the tours or are specifically working in an area that is devoted to entertainment relations. But there are a ton of people that work there that can really play and that part is pretty neat.

Is there another Gibson location other than the one in Opry Mills or is that where you work?

The Opry Mills deal is more of a store/restaurant. They have several buildings in Nashville including their HQs, Gibson Factory, Epiphone Warehouse and Custom Shop where they build high end custom guitars. I work at HQ most of the time and spend some time at the warehouse.

I work at a mid-sized advertising agency. I do research and strategy to set up the creative ideas that other people come up with. I think we tried to work with Gibson just before I got there, but it didn't work out.

I don't suppose you know a guy who works there named Frank Bernard? He's kind of chubby with thinning red hair? Anyway, he's a friend of mine from way back who got a job there at the production facility, I guess, and I lost track of him after that. Just a shot.

No, I can't say that I do. It is a fairly large company in Nashville, I mean there are so many divisions under the Gibson Corp. Most people from seperate divisions hardly ever have a reason to interact with people from another division.

As my son says, I have two jobs: fix sick babies and feed the fish (my Cichlid tank at the office). I sometimes wonder which one he thinks is more important. I love what I do and cherish my opportunity to work in a small practice where I can know all of my families personally.

On a side note, I'd really like to make my musical interests a little more than just a hobby. I write and play guitar and piano. Apparently, having a busy job and two young children is not the ideal scenario for doing so, but I'm working on finding more time.

Sheriff's Dept. and so to be Indiana State Police. I love the job and the fact you never know what a shift might bring you. My favorite part is busting crackheads that beat thier woman or kids..bad thing is most of the laws are on the bad guys side these days.

Weezer guitarist Brian Bell is a Knoxville native; his dad is a history professor at UT. Rivers is from a hippie commune in CT, and that isn't a lie.

You sure he doesn't teach geography? That's what he taught me, at least.

I am a musician in the US Navy. Currently stationed with the US Navy Band in Washington, DC. I emcee concerts for the concert band and am the vocal soloist as well. Also, I emcee ceremonies for military dignitries in the DC area. Additionally I act in the role of producer for the band, putting together shows for the general public as well as broadcasts to ships at sea. Definately an interesting job.
