Just rolled in from my parents' house. Mom cooked my birthday lunch. Actually, this is Sunday lunch every week at their house. The only difference is that for dessert we had angel food cake and strawberries (my request) in addition to the sweet potatoe pies.

For lunch I had...fried chicken and baked ham, purple hull peas, cream styled corn, green beans, fried squash, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, turnip greens, cooked cabbage, fried apples, rolls, corn bread, and sweet tea.

When I said I just rolled in, I was talking both figuratively and literally.

good word, I almost used it but didn't want to look up how to spell it
Seems fitting

 Lucky guy, I would kill for some of that food. Figuratively speaking, of course.

That's an awesome spread....

My mom is an awesome cook! Best fried chicken I've ever eaten. Best fried chicken anyone who has ever eaten it has ever eaten. And she is over 80. You should see the garden that my folks have every year. They raised most of those veggies.

6 hours if smoking later, baby back rack with the rendezvous vinegar baste treatment, dry rubbed to the hilt with the commercial rendezvous mix, chilled tortellini & artichoke salad, some corn w cream cheese and green chile mixture (that was fabulous) and a Root Beer Float.

Pre Memorial Day cookout. Solid.

Here is to everyone having a fine day with family, friends and some great food.

I look forward to hearing about the dishes everyone was blessed with.

:salute:

Na. I don't know exactly where you live, just in the Memphis area. I went to "wunderground" and saw a storm cell string stretching north to south and moving quickly west to east. I'm guessing you had about 90 minutes of getting dark, rain and "looks like its clearing".

Anyway, enjoy the rest of your day. :hi:

Steak off the grill, tater salad, garden salad, corn on the cob, broccoli in cheese sauce and dinner rolls.

Elk burgers on toast, with a few cuts of deer sausage. Ranch beans, grilled potatoes and onions.
