What did you have for dinner II?

lol, Lord, no!
In 2005, I was in Singapore (a giant statue of durian is visible from the road to/from the airport). Street vendors sold pieces of durian which locals bought and ate while strolling along. Public transport had pictograms of durian in the red slashed circle, indicating the prohibition of durian. The king of fruits is odiferous.

In 1948, Greek immigrants opened The White House restaurant in Atlanta. During the late 1960s, another Greek immigrant worked there. Demos Galaktiadis bought the restaurant in 1971. He moved it to its current location in the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta in 1973. It's a tunnel diner in an old strip center on Peachtree Rd. I've not eaten there in years, but their still cranking out the same eclectic mix of Greek fare and southern classics. Locals aver that it's THE place for breakfast in Buckhead, but, if you're ever in that neck of the woods, the made-from-scratch chicken & dumplings are the lunch special you shouldn't miss.
