Is the original Pal’s still operating? How about the #2 location? These weren’t the blue drive throughs with giant food on the roofs… Are there any walk up/sit down locations still operating?

They are both still operating. I eat lunch at #1 fairly often.

Pimento cheese sammy and chicken Ala King are 2 dishes I can not eat to this day thanks to the Army. One was the worst Sammy and the other was an mre that you ate last when you had no more grub and saved every baby bottle of Tabasco to kill the taste of that meal.

Haven’t tried the Costco version. We have to drive out of state to SC for a Costco run, so they don’t happen often!

I use Freschetta Brick Oven pizzas as the base for “decorating.” I got a half dozen at 2 for $7, and we’re steadily chomping away.

It’s the pizza stone that makes all the difference. Looks like hell by now, but it’s worth every penny! (30 bucks)

Did you ever have SOS in the Army.....hamburger fried in gravy over toast? I really like that too, but hey I was raised in a Navy family.

Haha. Yes and really like it. First time I ate it was in the rain in basic training at FT. Knox. We screwed something up so we ate breakfast at a rifle range from the front leaning rest while getting smoked. It was freaking hilarious.
