What did you have for dinner II?

Wow. What a way to get quality spices.
Hoping it works! It’s a bit weird these days.

I was watching “Love It or Leave It” about five years ago, and it had an Indian family. One of the houses had a spice kitchen (this is a thing!), which was new to me and seemed mighty pretentious. But I get it now.

Indian Hot.
Before COVID-19, my coworkers who immigrated from India invited me to accompany them to lunch at their favorite nearby Indian restaurant. Vegetarian dishes were served to the table, and we served our plates in turn. Twenty full-sized paper napkins later, I paid my share of the bill. My colleagues were at first alarmed by my reaction to the peppery food, then amused as I continued to eat heartily while frequently patting down my head and neck.

In 1970, the community engagement cop managing the youth center took some teens camping in the mountains, including me. He washed his taters. Big cut longways, but not all the way through. Couple of diagonal cuts. Seasoned these with salt & pepper, filled 'em with pats of butter, then double rolled them in foil. These were cooked in the coals of the campfire and on the rocks around it. Periodically, the taters were turned or moved using long-handled tongs. Best campfire taters I've ever had.
I may have to try this out in the fire pit!
