He redshirted last year. LT is a tough position. I think he eventually slides in to play guard and has a decent career. I don't think he'll live up to the hype. I blame part of that on Mahoney.
I've speculated the same. Watching him play LT reminds me a bit of Dallas Thomas. He went from a bad LT, to a not so bad LT, to a pretty darn good LG over the course of his career.
Chance Hall and Jack Jones looked world's better as true freshmen.
How about just admitting the truth? Drew Richmond simply stinks.
No reason to couch these performances with the he's a rs freshmen excuse.
He hasn't looked great, but as others have pointed out, it always takes a while for all players, especially offensive linemen, to get their feet under them.
Regarding the offensive line in general, however, the thing that I am concerned about is a seeming inability to adjust to the wholesale stunting going on by our opponents so far. It's just not being dealt with, period, as far as I can see, and it just floors me. What gives?
Drew is one of the nicest, most polite young man that you will ever meet.
He has a huge upside, very smart, and he will play at the next level.
I am proud that he wears the Orange.
He has a lot of upside but needs more experience and a better OL coach.
I understand when teams blitz, there is gonna be a gap or mismatch usually and the QB will be rushed but when the team sends a three man rush and often hurries out QB. Something is wrong.
