I don't even know where to start with this. You obviously have no medical background. I will pretend you didn't post this.
What do you guys expect out of Darrel scott? I'm really excited to see what the 3 of them guys can bring to the table!!
While this is a common opinion, think back to some of the recent better UT RB's. Hardesy had a great senior season with a couple of 260 lb walk ons getting alot of snaps in the OL. Henry and Lewis just flat made their own holes at times almost refusing to be tackled. Now if the OL is a sieve and the RB is getting nailed 3 yards in the backfield then it's going to be a long season on Rocky Top.
Powerful RB's who can make one cut and lower their shoulder pads tend to perform well in the SEC. Those that dance around and continually attempt to bump things outside tend to struggle with the speed of SEC defenses. What type of runner will Hurd be?
I think Lane has shown to be a one cut and go type already and if he stays healthy he will be hard to steal too many carries from IMHO.
People said the same things about Bryce Brown before his freshman year. We all know how that worked out.
People said the same things about Lane before his freshman year. He performed well, but wasn't as awesome as some predicted.
People said the same thing about Devonte Bourque. He was gone in two weeks.
Let's start by having more moderate expectations. Otherwise, some of you guys are always going to be setting yourselves up for disappointment.
I think D Scott will surprise many this year. Baring an injury to Lane, he'll get most of the carries followed by an equal share between Hurd/Scott. I think Hurd will end up with between 500/700 yards as he adjusts to the speed of the SEC (plus playbook, sets, etc.). He's also recovering from a shoulder surgery. It'll be nice to see how he responds as he leans forward for a yard or two and takes a direct hit from a OLB on that shoulder. I expect Scott to get between 450-500 yards as well.
Please enlighten us on his history of shoulder injuries.I know of one,his senior year.Did he have more or are you just makeing up something just to post?
I too expect Scott to surprise a lot of people,go watch his film kids got a spark. No question to me that Hurd is the better all around back but Marshall was higher rated and had more hype than Gurley and look how that one turned out. I could care less who is the best if they can have a D.McFadden/Felix Jones relationship or play like them two at allWhat do you guys expect out of Darrel scott? Hurd did well in the spring game. He responded well to hits then.
I think his shoulder injury is getting a little overplayed. He could have played on it last year but elected to get healthy for college. The way he was landed on, most everyone would have gotten injured. They did stabilizing surgery on it to make it stronger than it was before.
There was a lot of protective measures going on because it's the spring and was Hurds first contact in awhile. Going through summer workouts and then fall camp, he should be even more ready than the spring.
