What an opposing coach says about the end of our year

Going with "or not". No Vol fan could ever convert to pulling for Bama or any other team for that matter. Just not possible. I literally couldn't not pull for Tennessee if I tried.....and believe me, the last decade or so has made me "try"....it lasts about 3.5 seconds or so. Not for all the money in the world, just couldn't do it. And if others are claiming they could/did, I think they're full of ish.

i am with you but i have seen it. It is a small minority but it happens and they were both NegaVols!!!

... When my time upon this earth is done, and I am counting the last beats of my heart, my thoughts will be of the band, the band, and the band.

I thought that you were going here:

"When my time on Earth is gone and my activities here are past I want that they should bury me upside down so my critics can kiss my ass."

Kind of... Remember, I had high fevers as a child.

I'd like to average 9.5 wins per year.

I'd like to have as many 10's as we do 8's regular season. 8-9 reg season is the same as 7-8 used to be. I have ALWAYS thought that during our mediocre times, we could have won one more if they had just WANTED it. That is primary complaint from the Johnny and Phil years. Many times they just looked dead. Butch's teams at least appear fired up even if it is just during warm ups.

I know, obtuse way of saying a 9 win average but it is a little more gray than that. I would like to see bad years be 8..... Knowing that 8 is slightly above where historically we should be. However, with the amount of available talent now, we should be able to average 9. Have a bad year at 8 and have good years at 10 or 11.

While it's indisputable that the defense was gutted due to injuries by the end of the season, those injuries weren't responsible for the offensive failures in the the USCe game and the 2nd half against Vanderbilt.

ever heard of complimentary football? well it swings the other way too.

The South Carolina lost was unacceptable...

--------I remember Dobbs running out of bounds 4 or 5 yards early on the last play before the missed fg attempt at the end. If he hadn't. . we tie the game and maybe win in OT. He had a bad game other wise. Still don't know why Dobbs bailed like that. Butch as head coach gets the blame though to most. To me...I was disappointed in Dobbs moreso.

Dobbs was not physically or mentally prepared to play. Jones knew that and spoke about it after the game.

Who made the call to play Dobbs with a shot at winning the East on the line and a weak opponent? There's where the blame lies.

I think the newbie college grad that Athlon just hired got his "anonymous" sources mixed up and accidently asked a UT coach about UT.

Then again, Saban just loved Dooley. Thought he was great. Coaches never think it's the coaches fault... Lol.

I just went back and watched the end of the game (puke) because I didn't remember the final play prior to the FG attempt happening as you stated. Dobbs actually got about as much yardage as he possibly could have there. He MIGHT have been able to get another yard, but I think even that would have been a stretch as the defender was right there. Obviously if he's tackled in bounds, it's game over. That said, Dobbs played a horrible game, but he didn't run out early as you stated.

Dobbs himself said he had academic commitments that week (I can't remember the exact quote but late hours is what he was talking about). School first, football second. Like it or not, it is what it is.

I can see the reaction now if Dormady got the start and lost. Everyone would have been livid. You start your stud and that was the correct call in that instant. To suggest otherwise is sort of ridiculous. Hind sight is always 20,20.

Ratcheting up the goofy.

Gonna be interesting if Jones starts D this fall, we have a bad start, he switches to G, and we look good thereafter. It's gonna be he's a bone head for not starting G to begin with versus he made a crucial in season adjustment until he's fired or first kickoff fall 2018.

The people complaining are the same ones who said.."just end the gators winning streak and I will be happy."

Well it ended...all you guys want to do is complain..
I was happy.... But then Butch went and lost to South Carolina and Vandy. When people were envisioning finally ending that streak we certainly werent imagining it to come packaged with those losses. 1 step foward and 2 steps back is not progress. It is regression.
