You're not losing out on anything. This free board by Freak is heads above Volquest. You do have to weed through some junk to find the good stuff, and learn who the obvious kids are, but there is a core group of members who have been around for a while that are quite good and knowledgeable as well as very opinionated.

The only thing that seems to have gotten Dooley hired are the recommendations of people who don't give a crap about the Tennessee program.

I feel like the fact that we are paying Dooley more than we paid Kiffin is going to look really funny in a couple of years...

Well I appreciate the heads up, its pretty much like anything else in life then. In the army, there is always "that guy" also. I enjoy a heated debate, but I can't stand when somebody just goes on and on and on....etc.
We all are apprehensive about the hire, even if we don't say it constantly. I was scared to death about Lame and the gang last year. But "Come on man!!!!!!"....:banghead2::lolabove:

I heard the open market was paying him $400k a year at the start of the week to do two jobs.

I have no clue why UT didn't offer him $500k to be our AD. That would have been a much less risky investment and it still would have made Dooley happy.

How much does Hamilton make for these sorts of decisions?

Yeah I know right?? I said we should hire Gruden but... Oh yeah nevermind he turned us down. Well I remember clearly saying that Muschamp should be our coach....oh yeah nevermind... So on and so forth until we get to Dooley.

Perhaps that there were hundreds of candidates between Gruden, Muschamp, and Dooley who were never considered. :dunno:

Dooley is a downgrade from what we had here right before him, and I'm not even talking about Kiffin. Kippy Brown wasn't going to turn us down...

I would recommend him, but I don't think he'll leave and I want them to have a good chance of getting the guy they go after.

I'd suggest one of the Roper brothers as being more attainable, especially considering how hard it would be to fill the Alabama job.

Kippy should have been given the job!It would have excited and united the fan base.Instead we got this guy.MAYBE this works out,but MH passed on a stand up guy with tons of coaching experience and TN ties.I would call that a BAD decision.

It will only take two weeks to find out if he recruits at the level his proponents claim.

I hope so, but I'm glad he's already been set up with a top 10 class and just has to hold it instead of actually having to go out and get it himself.

It should be easier to hold than to secure, but I'm willing to give the man some credit if he simply keeps what we've got.
