We've Been Down This Road Before.

1. Hat is a ambulance chaser not a real lawyer or he wouldn't have time for 38000 posts.
2. It might be more effective to wait and and see if this was a good hire, not jump to conclusions based on what we assume.
3. Go Vols!

I'll be glad to. That's about as likely as a Clydedale winning the Kentucky Derby this year, but I'll be glad to.

You may well have a point..... If wanting to give the guy a fair shake before killing him makes me a "wailer" then so be it... I really want this hire to work out and I see enough in Dooley to think it just might.

do you really think that was better than locking down the hc position. although I do think 2.4 mil was high

Make Kippy Brown the interim coach, then hire a permanent replacement at the end of next season.

That's what I was calling for in the first place when it became apparent that we weren't going to get the "homerun" hire we were clamoring for..... If it meant torching this recruiting class then as painful as it would be then let it happen. Wait until the dust settles and select a coach that is "more qualified".... It didn't hapen that way though so we've got to make the best of what we have. I think it could be a good hire but nobody knows right now.

I haven't been "killing him." I haven't even got warmed up yet.

And (even if this were true, which I sincerely doubt...) this is relevant.... HOW?

No, you need help removing your head from Dooley's colon? I know plenty about the clown we hired. While other guys from Saban's LSU and Alabama staffs have moved on to big time programs and the NFL, Kid Gynomite has been toiling with a mediocre record in a jerkwater league. If a guy with a famous dad and Nick Saban as references is at a cesspool like Louisiana Tech, it's not hard to figure out they suck. When UT is sitting at 2-6 next year, I really want all of you "Let's give him a chance" wailers to come on here and take your medicine. Tennessee just hired a guy who went 4-8 in the WAC, three years into his tenure. Can't wait to see what magic he has in store for his third year in Knoxville. I hope Idaho isn't on the schedule.

OK hat you've just convinced all of us. Now what? Do we hold Hamiltons first born hostage until he gets rid of Dooley and hires someone more to your liking? You may not like the hire, but it's not Dooleys fault he was offered a great coaching job and accepted it. Quit calling him Kid Gynomite and other ignorant names. It just makes you look foolish. Call Hamiltons names, it seems like he's who you really don't like..

I thought of that also, and thought it would be a good alternative. Either way this year's recruiting class would have been wrecked.

You're right. Bringing in an incompetent dolt for three years is a much, much better idea.

Have you considered the possible outcomes of having a minority interim coach? Kippy winning 9 games and being given the job would be the only positive outcome of the many possible ones.

I'll let you know in next year or two when I'm ready to judge the hire. Thanks.

FWIW I was not happy with this hire when it happened. But he's our coach and he now has my support. I fully expected our team to take a step backwards with Kiffin this year because of our line losses and QB gone. If Dooley can come in here save some recruites and make some positive steps its all good.

Does Volnation a lot of good to sit here and ***** and moan. Very effective.

Got a murder trial in a few weeks. Got to have my character assassination skills ready to deal with the state's witnesses.

I'm assuming your client is hoping you will spend a little more time on the case and a little less time *****ing and moaning on a college football message board.

There's a good chance that if none of this ever happened we are sitting at 2-6 after 8 games next year. That is the most intellectually dishonest argument you've ever made on this board.

It's a better outcome than giving him a sham interview, then hiring a guy who finished the '09 season 4 games under .500 in one of the two worst leagues in Division I.

:lolabove: I'm *****ing in my pants right now...

This isn't the first time we've hired an errand boy for a championship winning Alabama coach. Bill Battle came to Knoxville after serving his apprenticeship under Bear Bryant. Look how well that turned out. On the bright side, at least Doofus never coached in Tuscaloosa.

Well if he's a carbon copy of Bill Battle just let him coach for three years and then fire him. That will solve any problems we might have.
