Nobody wants him to "take shots" at his class, that's silly. Talk it up, talk about how it fills needs, speak glowingly of individual players, etc. All that is good and to be expected.

Just don't say stuff like "we turned away a lot of talent" and "this was the most positive recruiting" cycle we've ever had when it missed on a ton of its top targets, many of which were in its own back yard, while finishing 7th in the conference and barely sneaking into the top 20. Its both tone deaf and disingenuous imo....as usual.

Who says anyone takes him seriously? Some of us take the program seriously and don't like the buffoon in charge making it a national laughingstock.


And it's not just coachspeak.

Pumping up his recruiting class by saying we had to turn away more talent than ever before? And this is just the latest in a long line of embarrassing things he's done or said.

You took a personal shot at him for some comment he made to the media about a small group of hs kids coming to UT to play a game. You should be even more embarrassed

Like it or not but that "buffoon" has brought our football program back to prominence in his 4 short years here. It will take 2 years of .500 ball or less before he is let go IMO. I do not see him letting his team's get to that point. The majority was on board with his recruiting and the direction the program was moving until this year. Now they are ready to trash everything and start all over. Make a home run hire and I'm on board, hire the 4th or 5th man on the list and I'm out.

I took a shot at him because he's a terrible steward of a storied program, and is so incompetent that every time he tries to polish the turd he just laid he ends up smearing it all over the dinner table. I am embarrassed about a great many things in my life, calling Butch Jones out on his buffoonery isn't one.


Actually scratch that, I am embarrassed that I still have to do so with him still in charge. So there's that.

None of that warrants personal insults to a person you've never met coaching a game for your entertainment. Get a freaking grip on your life of you think this truly matters that much. I'm now embarrassed for you

I and many others are using facts. Results, patterns, data. Those are things we are complaining about.

You're shatting rainbows and telling us how awesome Butch is. Butch is a joke and he keeps the laughter going every couple months.

I can't wait to see you defend this coming season.

No the players, specifically the legacies and talented in-staters, brought us back to national prominence. The players overcame terrible schemes, bad fundamentals, and a lack of leadership from him. The effort given was tremendous, and the passion for the university and drive to bring it back that many attribute to only our coach, was displayed in their play on the field. And how was it rewarded? By broken promises and incompetence from the man in charge.

I'm doing no such thing when it comes to Butch but you have to pretend I do or your posts don't work. It's why your posts are so terrible yet you keep claiming to use facts, data, etc. Thankfully your claim of "many others" is more overstated than Butch talking about this class. You're a pathetic bunch that is thankfully in single digits. You are loud though I'll give you that

I don't defend, I simply support my team. Have fun doing whatever it is you do and remember that people like you destroy this board. You drive posters away and make it a terrible place to post anymore. That's why you think there are many others when it's actually just fewer posting because you suck so bad

Oh, but it's ok to insult and slander a 20 year old who's given ACTUAL blood and sweat to improve this program? One who isn't getting paid 4 million a year to constantly underachieve?


And you're truly mistaken if you think this has any effect on my life past a few months in the fall and the few times I drop in to remind people he's an idiot.

Nobody is happy with Butch. That doesn't mean we have to make up reasons for not being happy by choosing stupid things to get up in arms about.
