We're Not Young...

We have played 22 freshmen this year. More than any other team. We start 5 true freshmen on offense and 3 on defense. We don't have a wr older than a soph.
Nah. We aren't young. We are obviously sr laden.

We are Talented, and talented enough to beat anyone in the SEC East this year. We faced a horrible Georgia team yesterday and came away with another road loss. Sorry, but this is eerily reminding me of the end of Fulmer's reign where he couldn't coach himself out of an open paper bag. Yesterday's game was ours to win, but we went in to our "let's not lose the game" vs "let's win the game" mentality.

We have the talent on the field - we just need a group of coaches to provide the leadership and direction for the team to follow.

Yes and GA is as talented as anyone... Your point?

Anyone that bashes this coaching staff isn't a true Vol fan!!! This staff without winning has revived the Vol Nation and we are clearly on the right path. Wins will come, at the beginning of the year everyone was going to be happy with going to a bowl. Now that we have seen the potential of this team we all want more. MORE WILL COME SOON.

Support the team and staff and your support will help propel us back to national prominence.

Excuses!Excuses!Excuses! Florida won the NC a few years back with all Freshmen and Sophomores. Mostly Freshmen. But I guess it's good to make excuses for a program that hasn't done squat in 10 years. That's all we know how to do around here!

weird because i see a whole lot of upperclassmen on this 2008 depth chart....

Actually we are talented and young and the young part is why we still aren't quite where the team will end up. We were one big play away from winning yesterday but there is a reason nobody can stop Gurley, he is on a different level.

the true reality is we're a solid oline away from being an 8 -9 win team easily this year. last year we had the line but worley hadnt progressed, our wr depth was atrocious and the defense was awful. now those three have hit stride and the oline is waaay behind. good news is that we hardly lose anyone the next 1-2 years and have tons more help comin.

It's people like you who give validity to other fan bases that Tennessee fans are really ignorant! For the sake of Vol fans everywhere, if you really believe what you posted, please keep your thoughts to yourself!

The negativity around here is just astounding. Before the season plenty of prognosticators were saying 4, 5 wins. We heard over and over on TV about how we were replacing everyone on both lines, a point which was hammered home to illustrate why we weren't going to be very good. This was reality.

Then we lose by 3 on the road to Georgia and there are people wanting to burn the place down. It's really disheartening.

Tebow and Harvin were both juniors. That's two elite college players. I'm just not sure what you are not understanding about the overall experience difference.

i posted the roster. there were a couple of freshman contributors but even those were mainly redshirt guys.

How are they supposed to stop Peterman from fumbling away a drive that revealed all our trick plays?

Oh, wait, I forgot, it's all Mike Bajakian's fault for calling the "fumble the exchange to trick them into thinking we're actually all clutzes" TWICE.

MY GOD MIKE IF YOU STUPID COACHES WOULD JUST TELL THEM TO STOP FUMBLING WE'D BE GOLDEN. WHY DOES BAJAKIAN KEEP INSTRUCTING OUR FRESHMAN TAILBACK TO DROP THE BALL?!

lol

The team had a fine game plan and generally executed it well. Even with Worley missing 1/4 of the game AND gifting UGA ten points (a TD and a loss of a FG attempt) with two unforced fumbles the Vols were still in the game until the bitter end. Playing AT a top 15 team that Vegas predicted would win by 17 points, a game that everyone in the preseason was writing off as a loss.

But for a good chunk of VN posters this is proof positive that the coaches need to make major changes RIGHT NOW. What happened to hoping for a bowl game? Those of us who reasonably hoped for 6-6 or 7-5 are generally quite encouraged by what we saw yesterday, but the arm chair QBs will only be satisfied by 14-0.

This gif's getting a lot of mileage today...

If you think we are not young, you are not very smart.
