We're Not Young...

We are Talented, and talented enough to beat anyone in the SEC East this year. We faced a horrible Georgia team yesterday and came away with another road loss. Sorry, but this is eerily reminding me of the end of Fulmer's reign where he couldn't coach himself out of an open paper bag. Yesterday's game was ours to win, but we went in to our "let's not lose the game" vs "let's win the game" mentality.

We have the talent on the field - we just need a group of coaches to provide the leadership and direction for the team to follow.

Bull**** all ^^^^^^

People like this can't think unless it's bul****. Then they write that bull**** down. Look at the bull**** they've written, a say to themselves, "That's mighty fine bull****, I'll go ahead and post it and try to get others to believe my bull****".

Besides Oklahoma, I'm guessing those teams have a few freshman on each side that they rely on. Some even have a freshman QB.

You guys act like the Vols are starting 22 freshman. There's plenty of experience on this team.

plenty of experience on a team who replaced the entire offensive and defensive lines? ever heard the SEC is won in the trenches? cause its pretty damn true... where is the experience? the wr core has some but our 4 best recievers are a true soph, a true freshman, a first year juco guy whos been hurt and a 5'8 junior. is it the secondary? oh wait no our stud cb is a true soph, our other corner is a walkon track soph, the nickel is a junior but isnt anything special and one of the two safeties is a freshman. how bout te? top two are freshmen, linebacker? we have a true soph who only played special teams last year, and a redshirt junior who missed almost 2 whole years of football bracketing the most experienced player on the team. kicker? freshman, offensive line? two true freshmen playing along side of 3 guys who had what? maybe 3-4 combined career starts at the beginning of the season. dline? we have a converted de starting at DT, two true freshmen rotating at strong side DE, and a first year starting dt rotating with a first year juco transfer. oh and the other starting DE is a true soph. rb? lane has played a good amount the last few years but has already been replaced by a true freshman. i guess all this experience is at QB where we have a second year starter and senior in justin worley. just because we have a few seniors and juniors on the team who have played a few snaps doesnt mean theyre any good. most of them have already been passed up by true freshmen. so anyone saying youth isnt a problem is a moron. no other way to spin it.

There were about 50 games played yesterday and I think Mizzou pulled the only meaningful upset, but according to you Butch should be doing that week in week out. Classic, set unrealistic expectations so that you can bash when he doesn't meet them.

True, and Missouri has 0 FR (redshirt or not) in the starting 22. 17/22 are JR or SR (those listed as such on the depth chart; https://missouri.rivals.com/cdepthtext.asp).

Come on man... please get sober and re-read your post. "Horrible Georgia team"; man they are #12 in the nation, that normally does not equate to a "horrible" team.

They scored 32 points, had some bad breaks and lost the game, just that simple. They played well and were coached fairly well.

22 True freshmen have played for Tennessee this season. The Volunteers have used more true freshmen than any team in the nation.

I'm more impressed with that guy every time I watch him. He was a man among boys on that field yesterday.

And to think, Georgia has three more guys behind him who could probably start at a lot of schools. That stable of backs is impressive.

In all honesty, I wish Tennessee had a power run game. I love watching teams that can successfully run the football down people's throats.

What is scary is that Chub may be as good as he is or better in the next year or two, that and the speed of Michele.... They are going to have quite a few years of very solid backs.

Hooold on there Bobalouie - how many times have the Vols been beaten by teams with less talent on the field in the past 15 years? Answer: Plenty. I like CBJ but it was not Worley's injury that lost us the game nor the youthfulness of the players. Anyone who honestly buys that is making excuses for the coaching staff.

Now you're talking about something completely different than the title of your thread and your first post. If you wanted to question the staff, then question the staff.

Fwiw, I'm not sold on Butch and the boys either. I'm not remotely sold that they are the guys to win championships, we've gotten zero evidence at this point to say they are.

What I am sold on is that they can bring in outstanding talent and that they are improving the team and the program. Anyone looking at it can see it. It's just a matter to degree they'll win imo. Is it quick enough after having sustained what we all have the last 7-8 years? Of course not. But anyone willing to look at it honestly can see we're improving.

Dumbest thread of the year. Dont worry though there will be more.

It was fumbling in the end zone, which mature, experienced teams normally dont do.

Im confused as to when you coached football? I'm not being insulting, just honestly wondering.

Nope - but it is a message sent across the bow that our talented players need some consistent play calling on both sides of the field for 60 minutes. It's a chess match and the games cannot be lost in the coaching booth. I like what CBJ has done off the field as much as I have ever respected any UT HC, but it has to translate onto the turf at some point, wouldn't everyone agree?

Not in the context that your stating it.

Boy virtually ALL professional college prognosticators on CBS, ESPN, etc. need to be fired. They had UGA #12 in the nation and we know they are a horrible team. We are not in the top 50 but played number 12 on the road to the wire. Wonder how we will do against, I am sure, a horrible Alabama team later in season. :hi:

Excuses!Excuses!Excuses! Florida won the NC a few years back with all Freshmen and Sophomores. Mostly Freshmen. But I guess it's good to make excuses for a program that hasn't done squat in 10 years. That's all we know how to do around here!

Probably the same as we did against the "horrible" Ok team. I'm guessing they don't realize the #12 is not just given away to random, crappy teams.

Idk what florida team you were watching. Alot of juniors and seniors. We have played 22 true Freshman. Not to mention replaced both lines. I fail to see what is so hard to understand. If you've ever played football maybe you'd understand but well its obvious the people that just sit on their couch and whine and the people that understand what's going on.
